AAAAARRRGH!

I have hurt my right arm. I had some Bowen therapy (a therapy that has wacky beliefs underlying it, but which seems to work nonetheless, like accupuncture) this afternoon, which has helped a bit, but not a lot. I have 10,000 words that were meant to be written tomorrow, and which are all in my head, but I can only type with my left hand. AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGH!

I should take this as a sign to visit friends instead, but am sticking to my original plan and will instead be writing veeeeeeeeeerrrrrrry sloooooooowly.

In the meantime, minimal typing, so even though I will probably read your post, I'll probably not comment. Would you be so kind as to please choose the correct response from the following list:

* Yay!!
* Oh, I'm so sorry.
* Well said!
* OMG!
* Is that Tom Felton?
* That's because you're smarter than them.
* A paste of bicarbonate of soda.
* I find cats to be the best answer.
* Good manners are never out of fashion.
* It's not as though it's real cricket.
* Skandar!

Re: cricket.
whatever gets you through the night, ya big girly pom!

To almost anything I say: I find cats to be the best answer. It usually is!

Take care of yourself, hon.

You, my dear, rock. Though I hope you'll do it carefully. Take it easy, okay? *gentle hugs*

* Is that Tom Felton?

*lol* 10 more days!! :D

I find cats to be the best answer.

Apart from the obvious Get well soon! to you, cats are the best answer for most things, among them, but not exclusively:

a mouse, an upset stomach, too little time, a sad face, a dog, a burglar, many unsorted stacks of paper, a teacup you don't like, rude answers, a nice neighbour, dirty dishes, boredom, silly people, crazy phone calls, ...

:-D

I find cats to be the best answer.

Definitely! There's nothing in the world that can't be made better by the addition of a kitten. Except possibly a stew...

>I find cats to be the best answer

Yes, I'm with the cats, although...anything involving Tom might be correct too *giggle*

THAT LAST ONE IS TOTALLY WORKING FOR ME! =P

*throws some more of him at you, just in case you didn't get enough in my own post...*

*massages your wrist to make it better* I have no idea if it would work, sorry =/ I'd type for you while you babbled it all at me, if I were there! Sorry I'm not.

*cuddles!*

Oh, I am so sorry. I will be sending your some
healing energy, in the meantime, be gentle with
yourself. ( squishes )

Oh, darling, I hope you feel better soon!
*gentle cuddles, and medicinal chocolate cake*

Oh poor you! Perhaps the time has come to experiment with voice recognition software?

I haven't actually made a post, so I'm not entitled to a response, but I'll take "That's because you're smarter than them", because I find it an eternally comforting maxim, and "It's not as though it's real cricket". Thanks!

I choose: Skandar!

Just because. *shrugs*

Hope your arm gets well soon. It'll be like a vacation.

[identity profile] aldehyde.livejournal.com 2009-09-15 02:46 pm (UTC)(link)
*big hugs* hope you get better soon! and when you do, i'd love to hear more about this bowen therapy :D

Brammers' answer is, 'It's not as though it's real cricket'.

[identity profile] wemyss.livejournal.com 2009-09-15 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
My question being, 'Have you seen the England side in the ODIs since Brown G cursed them w his support?'

Also w/r/t un- or sur-real cricket, see my latest post. (And the answer involving Broad S is NOT, 'Is that Tom Felton?')

W/r/t the arm, 'Oh, I'm so sorry': best wishes and may you have a medically implausible swift recovery.

Ooo - Bowen technique. Had that once from someone who was training. For a gentle technique she managed to dislocate my coccyx very effectively!

[identity profile] kareina.livejournal.com 2009-09-15 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Get better soon!

As to getting the story written--would it be easier to do one-handed editing? You could use voice recognition software to "type" it, and then clean up the text to say what you said and now what the program heard...

[identity profile] ladyjaneva.livejournal.com 2009-09-15 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I know what t's like to have only the use of one hand, so you have my heartfelt sympathies.

Get better soon!

[identity profile] uminohikari.livejournal.com 2009-09-15 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I actually disagree with the other commenters: yay is so much more flexible than a cat. :(

[identity profile] ant-queen.livejournal.com 2009-09-16 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
Voice recognition software?

I was about to email you to ask "can you kill oxalis without resorting to poison?", so I'm now tossing up whether to get a cat or smear the plant with bicarb of soda, or possibly the correct answer is "Oh, I'm so sorry, your garden is doomed, the only thing you can do is dig it all up, burn it, and take the ashes a long way away".

[identity profile] enchanted-jae.livejournal.com 2009-09-16 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
"I find cats to be the best answer" will probably work on most of my posts. *nods*

[identity profile] pingrid.livejournal.com 2009-09-16 10:47 am (UTC)(link)
Owie. Please treat the arm well so nothing chronic gets a chance to move in! *kisses it better*
