Good news, bad news ...

Good: It's raining, and Pomegranate, one of the fics I beta-ed for Career's Fest is up and splendid.

Bad: My laptop died for no reason while I slept last night. I am typing this on J's spare computer, which is horrible and which just ate the longer version of this post. Of course I have not backed up in ages, what a silly question! And of course I had my two most recent stories on the desktop, where they are least helpful. THIS IS DESPITE ME RECENTLY DREAMING MY COMPUTER WAS KIDNAPPED AND I CRIED BECAUSE I HAD NOT BACKED UP OR EMAILED MY STORIES TO MY GMAIL ACCOUNT!

NB, this does not for a moment mean that I have secret psychic powers, it means that my subconscious yells at me for being a slack bastard and reminds me that I will regret such slackness hugely, and yet MY CONSCIOUS MIND STILL PROCRASTINATES.

Yes, I am yelling at myself. And now I am going to read a book, print out someone else's fic to beta, and row a few miles on the rowing machine while watching a DVD of French canals. Tomorrow I will call the lovely Apple people and beg them to fix it quickly, regardless of how much money I need to throw at them.

Sorry about the laptop! I get so ridiculously upset when I have computer problems, it's scary how dependant I am on it.

I've been on such a HP kick the last few days though! It's great, I've been reading a bunch of cross-gen stuff with Malfoys and Potters, such fun. :D And I just read Pomegranate and it was so great! And I lol'd at Riverview cottage. River Cottage is such an awesome show.
