Drive-by post

I have long thought that there is little point remaining in journalism, as the medium appears to be dead. The alleged premier television news service in Australia has just run an advert in which the voiceover ran along the lines of: 'Dust storms, torrential rain, now the heatwave in the west. How will Sydney cope? Turn to the news that will see you through all the weather.'

The really upsetting thing about this is that there is also obviously no point in turning to a career as a satirist, because how does one top that?

Well don't leave for goodness sake. I despair for the literacy of our nation as it is. I was watching the teev and heard in a stupid Holden ad, the word 'then' when it should have been 'than'. Not only do I have to suffer it in fanfic and other general posts, but now I have to listen to it as well. I keep meaning to email Holden and tell them to get some literate people writing their ads and someone with at least a small brain in their heads to do the voice overs.
