The travels of Brammers, part 4b

Made it to my friend's place near Brixton, a mere 20 minute walk with large suitcase from the station. Memo to self: when your brain says 'No, I'll tube to Brixton and cab to your house is a bad idea', it is because it is, on a deep level, remembering the fact there are no cabs to be had in Brixton.

Still, I made it through the rabbit warren of poorly signed streets to where I was meant to be! And people were very encouraging with their directions, if not actually helpful (I was going somewhere odd).

A lovely young lass offered to help me with my bag at the stairs when I changed at Green Park, I laughed and said thank you, but it was so heavy I would rather just damage myself, then a big strapping lad appeared and carried it for me. I told him he had restored my faith in British men, he assured me he regularly did so and was thinking of putting it on his CV as an attribute.

Also, I have worked out why, moral imperatives aside, the British are committed to prosecuting the war in Afghanistan. £49 cashmere cardies at M&S -- ridiculous!
