In the immortal words of that chap from Top Gear ...

POWER!

After being woken by the beep beep of the ladder truck reversing into our improbably narrow lane, and listening to some 'Mate, no, this way, yeah ...', all of the lights in the house sprang into action and we were returned to the 21st century.

I have plugged everything in to recharge, am currently defrosting the short-haired cat in front of the heater, and can report minimal losses on the fridge front. And will shortly go back to bed, it being a quarter before the hour of five.

Before I do, though, HAPPY BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] enchanted_jae , may it be as lovely, inspiring and generous as you are!

Must dash, need to rotate the cat to thaw out the other side ...

Thank you, this post spoke to me with the voice of Jeremy Clarkson! It was...odd.

How bizarre: I took was without electricity all day today, and got it back about when you did. Are we leading parallel lives? Do you have purring cat in your lap right now, work you're trying to avoid, 4 or 5 knitting projects on the go, and an adorable husband?

Thank you! Have had a lovely birthday. I'm glad to hear you are no longer "pioneer woman" and that the cat is thawing. *laughs*

I thought the only word worth learning from them was ...

COCK!

I use that one a lot.

You do realise you just lost your best reason for rubbing two boy scouts together to start a fire and keep warm? Just sayin'

Haha, I hope the cat isn't TOO frozen..
