They will never suspect anything, until the arrows fly!

This morning I left the house roughly on time, and immediately ran into an old friend from 20 years ago right outside my gate. After a 10 minute chat, I left him and continued on.

The very next person I saw was wearing a traditional tin-foil hat.

I knew it was going to be one of those days, and it was.

My friends at work have a book running on how many days I can restrain myself before I bring my archery equipment in. Next Thursday is popular. This is, of course, nonsense. I will poison the teacups of those who exhaust my patience with carefully chosen botanicals that could easily be mistaken for perfectly safe herbs.

Also, for anyone who has ever held fic writers to account saying 'well, if you were a published writer ...', know that if they were published writers there is every chance under the sun they could not spell, count, be in touch with reality, stick to a style guide or commission brief. Fandom people have no idea how lucky they are!

I found myself unable to explain to one of the women in the office today where she was going wrong, as it would have taken far less time to sum up the few things she was getting right. I ended up just holding up the style guide and saying 'Style good. Leaving for me to fix, bad.'

When my usually warm and educational management style ends up sounding like Buffy, it's time to move on, or move the rest of them on. Either will be fine.

Person above me has a very good point - at least it's not Twilight?

True, though I feel sure that Stephenie Meyer and I could possibly bond in a weird weird way as I shook my head at her and said 'Oh honey ... feminism.' a lot and she stared at me wide-eyed and said 'Theoretically, you should have burst into flame by now, but let's have another slice of cake before you do!'

Amusingly, I was meant to be interviewing Charlaine Harris of Sookie Stackhouse fame tomorrow, but tragic circumstances in her family intervened. All-round poo, really.

I've not read the stackhouse novels. Are they good? =D

Extremely enjoyable, with enough good bits to make the less good ones fly by.

I shall add it to the reading list. Which if life ever calms the f* down, next up is the Black Dagger Brotherhood novels... or.. I think that's what they're called. whatever. those.

The ones by whastisname Cook? They're good.

SO MANY BLACK BROTHERHOODS!!!

If I ever write a classic fantasy series, it will be the Brotherhood of the Liberty Print.

Sisterhood, surely?

Boden for the podgy brethren from the Shires.

I'm visualising a male dominated force of assassins who fade into nothingness by dint of running into Foale and Tuffin exhibitions.

ohohoh, if that (interview) does happen at a later time, you MUST tell us(me) what you think of her, what impression you got, etc etc.

I love quite a few of her books, but always get the giggles when I see her picture...
