I chuckled all the way through this. She sounds like such a characterful cat! My cat's favourite place was on top of the boiler-unit. Even now, three years since she died (after a similar illness), I still catch what I'm SURE is a glimpse of her there when I walk past. It becomes kind of comforting after a while...
