Today
I have many things that need to be done urgently, some of which involve going for a walk up to Newtown. However, this is the weather radar, the system seen is currently moving to the east:

If you draw a straight line between the Sydney and Sydney Ap squares and then look at a point level with Randwick, that is Erskineville. Newtown is 500m up the hill, to the west. I suspect that I will be better off finishing up my story on pets in gardens this afternoon.
In other news, my physio pointed out today that one of the reasons the tendons in my foot hate me so much is that I have a mild case of permanently extended big toe, which is known as cockup deformity. FINALLY medical science names something appropriately!

Good luck with the house! Being a long time local, check out under the kitchen sink for cockroach, mouse and rat poo, stand outside in the yard for a bit to see how much flight path noise you get (and pub noise), and take a look at the front and back door jambs and outsides of the windows to see if it is a frequently broken-into place (recent repairs suggest as much as old tyre-iron marks!)
