(On HRT for transwomen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hormone_replacement_therapy_%28male-to-female%29) might also interest you.) Basically, it's easy to add changes with testosterone and hard to take them away. T induces many permanent changes, whether occuring naturally in male puberty or in HRT. So, for example, even giving transwomen estrogen and giving them androgen blockers will not reverse the changes they went through in puberty.
