Perspective

I was going to post a long and involved post asking why all the Worldcup palaver turned into such sturm und drang, donder and blitzen, Grumpy and Sleepy, but then the Monster kitten spent the last five minutes playing splashies with her water bowl and now I have two little cats sitting on my feet drying off in front of the heater.

And it occurs to me that rather than getting to the heart of why so many of my lovely friends were so drained by Worldcup (I was in the group drained before postings, as opposed to the group who lost the will to live during, who should not be confused with the mods who are even now forming a support network), what I really want to do is hire an aeroplane, jet round the world, pick everyone up, and bring you all here to play with the cats.

Bugger tea and Xanax, there's nothing like a kitten nomming on your toes to make the world seem a more pleasant place.

Good call! In all directions! What a great ad, especially the Massai and the giant squid! I'm off to bed and then rowing tomorrow, where people acting like idiots can be splashed.

*wants to come pet your kitties and play with you in the sunshine* :)

I'm feeling pleasantly fest free right now - and bemused that I now feel the urge to write pages of fic, even though that's what I've been doing pretty much constantly for the last billion years few weeks.

But I don't like kitties. I prefer puppies.

Is that a cue for more angst and woez?

Hear, hear ;;;^..^;;;

wc angst is sooooo last week. current clusterfuck is the lj election (though fandom totally won, but death threats? come on).though i agree with empress_jae about everyone being effected by the wc

and kitties are totally the win. ♥

How did Snow White manage to stay a virgin while living with seven men for so long?

The dwarfs were all fucking dopey.

*puts hand up for ticket*

Actually, tonight I have two 9 month old Bengal cats going cheap. Hell, I'd pay someone to take them. Conversation is one thing, non stop vocal tantrums is something else entirely. *glares*

*hugs*

No, you need to spend it in England, in late Sept, early Oct, so we can totally meet up over there and cause havoc, and or mahem... with possibly theft of interesting British mail boxes. >.>

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-05-31 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Sadly I am booked out for most of that period, and won't be in Italy until the beginning of November. You could hang around ...

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-05-31 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
No, because you may always substitute puppies for kittens.

My actual kitten thinks she is a puppy, she runs through the house dragging her favourite fluffy toy on a stick and string, then comes and drops it at my feet before looking up at my hopefully.

The older cat just looks at her, aghast, and makes mental notes for a spot of re-education when we are out of the house.

It is sunny again, though cool, but cool is 19 deg C, so not that bad. You'd be very welcome!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-05-31 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)
AHAHAHAHAHAHA! See, you're always sorted for good kitty cheerfulness, I have followed your lead!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-05-31 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Me either, I think I may be approaching halfway. Sigh.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-05-31 04:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I'm a week behind in my life. I'm only watching Eurovision now. LJ, why do you always turn to the crack rather than the kittens? And not the good kind of crack ...

Monster has just done a drive-by cheek lick. She wants something ...

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-05-31 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
That's just terrible ...

You will be on the Brammers jet. And your kitties can come and visit to see if they pick up any good habits. Aside from over-wakefulness and one with a water fixation, tese two are pretty perfect.

LOL - YAY for kitties!!!

BUT I HAVE NO KITTEN! O NOES!!!

Yeah, I was burnt out on HD Worldcup like um... three weeks ago. I am still going to read the stuff I have left in my folder, because everyone likes comments even if I can't vote, but... yeah.

Sleepy Happy Grumpy Dopey Sneezy Bashful Doc.

Wow. Why do I remember that particular order from a TV commercial eons ago...?

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-06-02 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
The same reason that I remember Simon and Garfunkel; things take up residence early and Refuse To Leave! Good call on the comments, it's true, they never come too late.

Do you know anyone with a kitten you can borrow? Mine is asleep on my foot right now, and it is very restful.

I cannot get the damned thing to download! But WHAT a mental picture! Cheers dear!

Ah sorry. Just FYI it is a clip of a three week old leopard kitten that had been abandoned by its mother and wandered into someone's house in India.

The thing that got me, apart from the belly (and everything else) was the rumbling growly purr. No matter how impractical or irresponsible - do want.

There's a chap in New Zealand who hand-raises all sorts of big cats. They are appallingly adorable, but I hold my breath every time I see him on a documentary playing tag with a 250kg wild animal. It's like the cow I handraised as a calf who would always suckle my fingers years later, except with teeth and claws.

The only thing better is sipping tea WHILE a kitten noms your toes.

I just go around the corner to my sister's when I need pet time; her American Eskimo is 35 lbs of big fluffy white lapdog. (Her cat is of the snooty variety, and seldom deigns to be petted.)

Petting a cat generates an ionic field which is very soothing.

What kind of ions? Cations, of course.
