Still manky, which is to be expected, but I was very sensible and spent the weekend in bed or inside save for a few short walks in the warm part of the day, and well rugged up. Back to work tomorrow, which will not be fun, but they have craft specials going off to the printer and someone who knows something about craft should look at them before they go.

However, nice things have come out of the blue! My dearest artist friend is studying set design at NIDA and needed to borrow a spinning wheel for her assessment. I supplied mine, with a few bits of dressing, and she is off to commit acts of great art. "But!" she said down the phone, "I am not just calling in a borrowing state of mind! I have a gift! From a set!"

And so she showed up tonight with a treasure from the Farscape film she worked on the other year: a genuine Scorpius mask. You can imagine how much this made me giggle.  The lights on the side still work and all. I will have to make him a head to go inside for the full freaky effect. I have the best friends ...

damn plague. sometimes booting into a different room doesn't work. last january my housemate got the plague, and locked herself in her room so i wouldn't get sick. the idea was great, but i ended up with the plague and bronchitis 2 weeks later. it took forever for me to shake that cough. i wanted to kill her. :D

At least she tried. I am hoping that I am no longer contagious since I'm back at work tomorrow. I'll feel very bad if I spread this. Well, except to the Tasmanians who were warned and who chose to visit nonetheless.

i guess her effort is what's important. :P

honestly, i do hope you're feeling better and not forcing yourself to work because you feel you HAVE to. rest, rest, rest until you're better. otherwise you'll just get sick all over again, and that's no fun. :(

Sorry! But hey, maybe the appallingness will scare off the flu because there just isn't room for them both in the same body - it's worth a try! :)

I don't know which amuses me more - the gift of the mask (kinky/creepy, btw) or the fact that you are going to make a head for it. I wouldn't even know how to go about making a head. lol

I'm sorry you're not feeling great yet. I hope you make it through your workday okay.

The plague continues over here as well. Ben had a barf fest last night - haven't had one in a while actually, and it brought back some fond, if gross, memories - and we were off to the drop-in today and again tomorrow if the fever doesn't abate. Poor monkey. We're both tired and grumpy today.

you have the most interesting life. it may consist of too much lurgy (this is most likely because you do so many things your body has to just break down every now and then to get a little rest- there are obviously other tactics, but this method seems to be working for you [*smirks*]), but even then it remains more lively than most.

am glad yuo are feeling a touch better. [*pets*]

You wear it! (And make a pic. And then you'd probably need to disinfect it.. XD)

Btw, I always wanted to ask: why do you have a dog as your default user pic?

You start with a skull ...

Made it through six hours. Felt pretty shabby, but made it home with even a task or two done on the way.

Poor old Ben, at least I'm not throwing up. J is, sadly. Sends you some healing thoughts!

You may have something in your theory of sleep need ... but after the amount I've had lately, surely I should be set for the next while!

Yay indeed! And thank you for the pancakes! They make a pleasant change from poached eggs and whatever vegies I can cook without having to stand up for more than five minutes ;-)

First half of November. I was going to extend it into a romantic getaway, but it's now just a conference and catch up with friends. I'm excited, but suddenly aware of how awful my Italian is ... However, POSTCARD!

oh my I'd love to go. even for business. I want to visit all over that country. Florence, Venice, Rome, all of it.

well, who'm I kidding... I'd love to have unlimited money resources so I could just go EVERYWHERE in the world. that would be so awesome. I just want to explore and see everything.

If there's anything particular in Florence you'd like me to scout out for you, I can do it!
