A post with actual HP substance!

Before getting to the meat of the matter, a moment to say [Poll #1427787]I've used check boxes because I can be taught ;-) BTW, please mentally add in the other exclamation point, I had exceeded my daily quota ...

As someone who has just started reading book one, I think the idea of a book club is a great idea, because like Shu_Shu_Sleeps I don't write fanfic and it is unlikely that I will take it up anytime soon.

[livejournal.com profile] sansa1970 said to pop over here and see what hoopla/mischief was...I like it here!

I think someone's thrown out the "Worst first line Ever" idea and that's the one I'm hoping I can do.

Take care, have fun and laugh a lot, eh!

OH HAI WASH!!! Or rather, OH BAI WASH!!! I am familiar with that one. It's all a bit conflicting, because it was an excellent political thriller, really tightly scripted and acted, it just wasn't really Torchwood.

ANYWAY, trying to avoid getting my fandoms muddled (I am now up to three separate LJs and associated emails trying to keep this stuff straight), either seminars or your writing thing would be awesome, because I have been scratching away at a few things, and I suspect I have mostly got myself in a muddle. Teach me things, oh wise one!

I am beginning to fear that the problem is that there is so much wrong with the story that it's sapping your will to live. ;o)

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 08:55 am (UTC)(link)
No, quite the reverse! Bad stories that require enormous amounts of broad effort are actually very easy to edit. Good ones that require close concentration and a fine touch are FAR harder, and so I pop them down my list a little and wait for the days when my brain is working. (which used to be more frequent!)

As a matter of fact, I have planned a calm couple of days/week(?) of finally starting the career fair fic. So I'm not going to vote or make suggestions, but I still might participate in whatever you come up with because I'm the sort of person who'd take any type of substitute activity if it aided my procrastination. i have no idea why my mind wants to write that word to rhyme with castration, nope

[identity profile] grey-hunter.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 09:00 am (UTC)(link)
This is completely your fault because I just said I won't go suggesting anything but how about a stick-figure/margin-doodle/mouse-drawing "fanart" contest/fest? And by fanart, I mean illustrations for already existing fanfics.

Flattery will get you everywhere. :oD

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
It will all be easy and low key, and if you just want to pop by and make rude comments, that will also be fine!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 01:40 pm (UTC)(link)
It is happening! news will be up by the end of the weekend!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 01:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I think Sansa is doing Worst Opening Line, but she is holding off till the Azkatrazers are back. In the meantime, we will have crack drabbleage, but feel free to make them full of worst lines!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 01:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh hush, you. You can submit some at the end when you get home, but only if you spill good goss!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
You sensible and organised woman! Come along and waste a spot of time with us, it'll be fun!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)
YIPPEE! And hurrah for being a stop-out!

[identity profile] emansil-08.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 02:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I was greedy. I picked more than one, cause umm really I have issues with my decision making skills.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 02:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yes, because I am SO in a position to judge you for that ...

[identity profile] under-an-oak.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, you sound like you're going to have so much fun! redundant comment is redundant comment, hah! :D Just got back from a 3-week long fangirling trip over my utmost favourite Korean boyband and now I'm eyeing this post and wishing I could have a HP-fangirling trip. Ah...I hope you're having loads of fun!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
We're having fun by not going anywhere! I'll promote the comm here as soon as it's up, feel free to stop by!

[identity profile] naadi.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL! That sounds like fun!! :DD Mouse-drawing - hahaha - my mouse drawing attempts are really awful - barely worthy of stick-figuredom.

[identity profile] grey-hunter.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd be sensible and organised if I were in the habit of actually putting those plans into reality. Alas. *cough*

But of course, I'll play with you. (Because I'm not at all sensible.)

[identity profile] grey-hunter.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Mine are, too. That's what makes it such fun!
