Pssst, you costume and fashion folk ...

For those people here for the fic, politics and general ranting, it may come as a surprise to know that I dabble in costume, textiles and fashion. Not that you would know it to look at me, nor at my extensive Birkenstock collection. Nevertheless, some of the people from my other lives have found their way over here, and some of you fandom folk are keen, too.

I think many of you might want to go here and look at this. My friend Deense sent me a link today, it's a gorgeous recreation of an Edwardian Worth gown, along with all the steps that went into its production. Lovely work and a beautiful result. If you like it as much as I do, you might even want to go here and vote for it to be displayed in a National Trust property. It is currently running a narrow second in the poll, behind a very cool but much plainer needlecase. We could tip the vote!

Have voted, what fabulous work! The sheer amount of work that's gone into the cording, just WOW. Is it terrible that the quality of the workmanship makes me want to tweak the bodice and bottom chiffon edge to make it PERFECT? I rather fear it is! Still, LOVE it. Inspiring!
