My brain = porridge

I've not had a good memory since I was hit in the head by two tonnes of taxi in the '90s, it's like a library after a cyclone up there. So I rely on external sources.

Does anyone have any idea who I am talking about when I say that I vaguely remember the story of a French woman who was so disgusted at the treatment she was receiving in a meeting that she silently took the hat of the man who was oppressing her, squatted over it and urinated freely.

I had a vague idea it was Colette or Anais Nin, but Google is no help, and the brain? She is porridge. In fact this woman may not even be French. Though she is definitely a woman. Or was, she could be mouldering by now.

Anyone?

If you wish, but it is my firm belief that when it comes to toilet stories it's inherently permissible to laugh AT.

What does it say about my brain that the first thought that popped into my head was: hey, isn't that like some old law where a more than 6 months pregnant woman is apparently allowed to pee inside a policeman's helmet if she needs the toilet?
Also since I'm an uncultured swine I have no idea who Anais Nin is. Don't kill me. However that is going to be remedied very shortly.

reminds me of an act at the melbourne fringe festival once....
Are you sure you're not mixing up bastille day with performance art?

one day you'll have to tell me about how your life on a commune was. i'm very curious.

Or even better... she should write a H/D AU fic about it in which wizards are a cult living in a commune called Hogwarts, growing herbs and tending animals and such. *snickers*

So, how about it, BB? :D

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-08-05 09:13 am (UTC)(link)
I'll have you know that I am *Still Scarred* from all that tofu! ;-)

It could happen one day, but given the list of WIPs I am accruing, I should hold off on promising anything new until a few more things are finished. But I promise to give you some insider info if YOU'RE keen on doing it!

I don't know either, but, as usual, I had great fun reading the comments. *G*

You know, that was the highest ranked Google response when I was trying to track down who this was: http://www.ukpoliceonline.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=25915

You're allowed to not know who Anais Nin is, she is a bit obscure! She's cool, though, and wrote lots of short pieces if you just want to dip into her works. Though many of the stories attributed to her seem to grow with the telling ...

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-08-05 09:30 am (UTC)(link)
YES! And Nin was mid-20th century, not Revolutionary. Why were you watching people wee in Melbourne? Do I really want to know the answer to that?

I have all these smart, talented and funny people on my flist, and I appreciate you all!

I have to say that at least you have a taxi to blame. What are those of us who have no brain and no taxi supposed to do? :(

Consequently I am diddly squat use on the french bint peeing in the beret.

If you haven't been reduced to eating out of date white cooking chocolate buds, you're having a more constructive day than I am. :D

I could fill you in on the details of head injuries and you could fib ;-)

I must say that I've not had an actual migraine since thwacking my head. It's not the cure I'd advise, but it does work.

As for food, I went to the Chinese where I like everyone because they call me Missy Girl (it is a cunning marketing strategy they employ with the over-40s) and I was very good and ordered garlic and broccoli. And then crispy skin chicken. Because I demand an instant reward for my virtue.

Oh, I love your virtue! There may be a bowl of icecream and maple syrup sitting next to me. How do these nasty rumours start?

One day we should sit down and compare injuries. It's always fun. Speaking of which ... you're running out of weeks, woman! What's going on? Is it my shocking B.O? I promise to wash. With water even.

Why you think the 'Net was born? Porn, porn, porn!

Thanks for trying!!

The discussion alone has been worth it.

Hallelujah!

[identity profile] grey-hunter.livejournal.com 2008-08-05 12:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahahaha! Not likely. *G* I've already been talked into co-writing a camp-fic (which we still haven't started, even after two years *cough*) even if the only time I was camping (as a reward, might I mention) in my youth was for two weeks at a not-quite rural scene. It was a defining experience of the never-again sort. I'm well and truly the child of reinforced concrete and cement. When I was a wee kid, I was afraid of the aerial roots of our philodendron.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-08-05 12:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, we're pretty sure it's Nin, I just need to find some actual confirmation! It's very likely to have been included in a biography or a review of a biography published in the last 10 years, that's the vague glimmering of information coming out of the morass that is my brain ...

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-08-05 02:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh, I knew I had gone a wee bit agricultural when I advised a friend on the best leaves and grasses for emergency loo paper.

Philodendrons are not the most trustworthy of plants, you were right to fear.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-08-05 02:46 pm (UTC)(link)
OH YUM!!!

My injuries are mostly afflicted by roads or cars, except for one knee killed by ballet and a number of toes and fingers dented by stupidity (mine).

I am working on A Plan, but finances are tight at the moment. You know, you get back before the exhibition ends, panic not!
