I've been wondering whether some people dislike con crit because the criticism actually hits a nerve with them. Maybe they know that part of their story is iffy and hence they react badly. It's kind of like when people ask their friends whether the skirt makes their bum look big. The right answer is never: "OH GOD YES."

Personally, I don't mind it. I don't love it. I don't hate it. It's helpful but only when I'm in the right mood. If I'm feeling upset that day then con crit sucks. But if I'm in a 'okay, I should totes improve my writing' mood then I adore it and thank the review effusively.
