I would make some witty remark....except that I did the same thing several years ago. It was a busy week!

scan tech (as I'm packing up to leave the hospital): you need to wait for the doctor (sounding distinctly panicked)
me: why?
tech: you just do!
later.... doctor: no you can't go home and come back tomorrow to have it out then!

But seriously...I had a lot to do and I could almost stand up straight!
