Brrrrr!

Dear England,
I have found your cold!

Do you mind if we hold onto it for a little longer? as everyone is looking great in their scarves and the local homeless are well-rugged.

I don't remember the last Sydney 5 degree morning (I am in what is referred to as the coastal strip, despite being a few miles from any seawater.) The only downside is that it leads to being stuck in bed with cats pressed against the legs for warmth -- theirs rather than mine -- and god forbid one should wish to turn over!

Anyway, do enjoy the warmth, and be sure to send it home around August. Though if you would like to keep a bit in reserve for December and January, I am sure that no one here would mind!

I don't know. Sheer tiredness?

Here in the U.K. we are roasting. There is record heatstroke!

Yes, my nice cousin tells me he has been sweltering down in subtropical Kent. If it keeps up I am going to send him some of my Factor 30+, and he can grab me some woolly vests!

...I am torn between wanting the heat to go away, and the fact that we are meant to be travelling through the mighty Kentish jungles for a family do on the 10th.

Remember to pack your machete! And some quinine! (Has mental images of vicious roaming hollyhocks ...)

I'm more scared of the flowers at my uncle's. They're already colonising cars...
