Very briefly

Packing, so I've not had time to read all of my flist yet, apologies if you've all seen this before, but this may be my fave fandom pop culture reference of all time. (Er, you will need to click to today's date if it's tomorrow when you read this -- I'll try to remember to update the link when it's archived!)

And now, finish packing, eat breakfast, buy tickets and catch 8.30 train to Firenze rather than 4.50 one that takes 6 hours! Travel post tonight!

We had the most wonderful stay in Florence at the Hotel Colomba, Via Cavour 21, during our 2nd honeymoon in 1994. The proprietor, Rosanna, is Australian (and turned out to have been my brother's maths teacher some 20 years earlier) and a wonderful lovely person. I see from their website that they have updated a lot since we were there but it remains the highlight of our trip - and we plan to take the girls there when we go to Europe in a couple of years' time. So if you do happen to go there, please pass on fond remembrances from John and Jacki from Canberra. Hope you have a lovely time on your travels.
