Today doesn't count

It was so stinky hot today that I could not sleep at all last night and failed to get to work today due to a thumpy head that lasted til 2.30. So I hatched a plan to do other useful things!

Of these, I managed eat ice-cream, play with cats, do physio and arm exercises. And buy peaches and more ice-cream.

I'm just going to write today down as cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.

It's ALL CRAZY! The sea water is so warm here that we have had record rains and an area the size of France and Germany underwater. You are very welcome to take some of the heat! And thank you very much for the cool!

And I swear that the next person who tells me that there is no climate change is not going to receive a carefully argued and footnoted lecture from me, I'm just going to kick the fuckers in the shins from now on.

Oh, climate change is real, baby - maybe not the way the scientists are going on about it, but its real. I hate to say things like,"Well, when *I* was young ...(we had to walk ten miles to school over an arctic snow cap in socks)" but honestly, I've never seen such messed-up weather in my life. We either get buried in snow or its like spring all winter. (Alas, not this year, but last year)

As though life weren't weird enough ...

It really is the way scientists are going on about it, though. We are so thoroughly and deeply fucked and yet people are being fed the lie that there is no reason to panic by a general media that has less scientific sophistication than I have height.
