It's not just me, everyone here sees policy debate in HP terms!

"It's almost as if the GST is the Lord Voldermort of the tax debate – it cannot be named."
Saul Eslake, Australian economist, 7.30 Report, ABC

Utterly snowed under with work until the 14th, but general hugs to you all! Especially to [livejournal.com profile] groolover who gave Fathers its first rec, thank you, dear! I've been looking at folding bikes, I actually COULD cycle to see you! (Er, from York, not from Sydney, that would be crazy! And involve many laps of a cargo ship ...)

I have to admit, I laughed out loud when he said that!

I am so tickled every time HP works its way into popular culture. Quidditch jokes, wand jokes, HP sexual innuendos - all squee-inducing. When HP makes its way in to politics? WHEEEEE!

(I LMAO at the "Voldemort/McCain '08" bumper stickers.

Brilliant! I love that HP-references are everywhere.

The *first* one?!? How ridiculous. There should have been lots!

I'll be very impressed indeed if you cycle all the way from York - they do allow bikes on the trains :p
