OOOH!

My eyelids are convinced it is bed time, but my brain insists it cannot be bed time until I type the following:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] groolover! Your icon never fails to bring a smile to my face, and has ever since I first noticed your cheerfully reccing ways long before we friended each other. (I swear that I will one day take your advice and read Reparations by [livejournal.com profile] saras_girl!)

And LJ has just eaten the rest of this post, dammit! OK, there was something about you being a fabbo person and so supportive to writers, and making fandom a better place (all very true!), and then a comment that I would totally cycle across the Pennines for you, though that is less impressive than it sounds because they are not that mountainous really and I am a rather good cyclist and hill climber. Definitely ended on a wish for this being a year in which all your hard work is rewarded and hopes that it sees all your plans come together beautifully. Have an excellent one, dear!

I know I went further to wish happy birthday to the beautifully sepia-toned [livejournal.com profile] salixbabylon, and hopes that the day brings as much joy in the form of cheer, love and scantily clad menfolk to salix as salix does to the world. Have a great one, darling!

And I definitely ended with hopes that [livejournal.com profile] nedtheimpaler and [livejournal.com profile] violetage were having wonderful birthdays, wherever they may be these days, too.

I'm going to leave out the fancy formatting, I think that's where LJ spits the dummy ... And now, sleepy bobos!

Oooh....I second the recs

Okay, so I mostly lurk, but I really really love your writing (and also you in general) but as am in Detroit, cannot practically stalk you. HOWEVER - Reparations and Foundations are truly fabulous, and based on how you write Harry and Draco and how I think you see them (esp. in Beneath Boundless Skies, one of my much-loved, much-much-much read comfort reads even though you kill [REDACTED] you shameless hussy) I think you'd like both.

I agree with both the stalking, the loving and the general fabulousness of these stories. You and Sara's Girl are two of my absolute favourite writers so logically you must therefore enjoy each other's fic, right? (I am quite sure you have recommended Sara's Girl in the past so you must have read some of her stuff).

I can really recommend the podfic. The american (sorry, canadian!) accent did stump me at first but you forget about it after 5 mins.

and Hmfuson, I concur with the comfort reading - having just bought a kindle I am now trying to figure out how to convert word to PDF so I can have all brammers fic in my bag. Always! (I'd best stop before the manic cackling takes over)

Shamefully, I don't think I have read anything of hers, though I am pretty sure that I have said 'I hear she's good' several times because enough people whose opinions I respect have told me 'READ HER, YOU THICKY!' Alas, since mounting my coup and taking over my mag, I have had only just enough brain to read short fic, Agatha Christie, anything written before 1940, magazines and knitting books. But I will have some brain space soon, so she is on my reading list. This time, I will get there!

I really want to come to Detroit and take photos of all your beautiful 20th century buildings before some numpty knocks the rest of them down, so we could definitely have a mini-mutual stalk if I ever manage that (working my way up to dealing with LAX again, aka, the 7th level of hell). I will get to her before the year is out, unless things go horribly wrong, thanks for the tip!
