I've always thought of the ones I give as guidelines: so much so that this year I just wrote 'these are things I like, these are things I don't, go wild!'

And yes, that's so very true! Conversely, I remember apologising to the super-lovely fourth_rose for not really following her prompts at all well and she replied that it was exactly what she wanted ;-)
