And the winners are …

Hurrah for hd-holidays reveals! I even have new authors to stalk from the small number I've managed to read. And am pleased to see that I recced a few friends! (And embarrassed to notice the fics I meant to rec but forgot about. Will try to get to a few of them over the next week or two along with my full recs for Fearless and Coffee, Cakes … damn rec-eating LJ.)

I wrote A Young Radical's Guide To Love, which whispered gently in my ear that it would be a well-behaved 30K fic, before bursting out into a 66,000 word one that secretly wanted to be about 100,000 words, but that would have involved going without sleep through September and October as well as November and a bit of December. I kept having to remember that [livejournal.com profile] cassie_black12 wanted lightness to the tone whenever I was tempted to make an overt Guantanamo Bay analogy, and [livejournal.com profile] raitala, who was indefatigable in her shouting at me to write 'More! Faster!', was also very good at the 'This requires more kissing. I am certain your recipient requested kissing!' To the point where my inestimable beta [livejournal.com profile] jadzialove said 'There is a lot of kissing in this for you. Have you been drinking?'

Which means that the three fastest winners of Monday's guessing game are [livejournal.com profile] phoenixnoor, [livejournal.com profile] astardanced77 and [livejournal.com profile] snegurochka_lee, with [livejournal.com profile] goddessriss being the most amusing. Not all my stories contain dreadful puns, Riss! A couple have even contained sex! (I think one of those may have had dreadful puns, though …) astardanced77 has already asked for an extra for Little Red Courgette, if the rest of you could leave requests here, I will set about meeting them!

[livejournal.com profile] nenne also guessed rightly, and [livejournal.com profile] oakstone730 wrongly but flatteringly. If you two have an extra you would really like, I will try to get to it, too!

I made you smile and that's the main thing! For The Public Good, please, it's one of my favourites. BIG HUGS FOR YOU xxx

*sniffle* I missed the deadline for guessing (damn time zones/limited internet time), when yours was the only fic I was 98% sure about authorship. *wails*

Anyway, to repeat my original comment, absolutely brilliant fic!

That was absolutely brilliant. I do love the way that you create a whole society.

Yay! I get to make a wish too. :D Thanks! I made a rec-post for your story a few days ago by the way.

I wish for more of "Fathers". (And you can call the chapter anything you like. *magnanimous*)

Hurrah!

Oooh, I would like anything more about Young Radical! Either outtake or just author's notes rambling. Where would it have gone if it was 100K? Or, since I have no light-hearted requirements, what were your Guantanamo-analogy ideas? The opening scenes are definitely darker than the rest of it; Draco as the hero of a dystopian Ministry nightmare would have been just as captivating!

Or, you can just write me more kissing. :)

Oh Brammers you've made me twice snort my lunchtime pot of tea up my nose with your fabulously witty characterisations and I've hardly read more than a quarter!! Bless you - will respond in depth and more coherently on the hd hols page once I've finished your fabulous story!!

A toast of hot earl grey to you!!

I will buck the trend and humbly request an extra of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. Merry Gents and Good Tidings are such wonderful little teases and leaves the reader just wanting to know what happens next...

Damn you

.We had an unexpectedly free evening last night, since choir doesn't start back up after the holidays till next week. Did I use the time to work on projects? No. Did I reply to any emails? No, even though I have letters owing to people I care greatly about. Instead I spent the whole evening reading your story.

I should do the math of exactly how many words/hour that came out to, so the next time you warn me how many words long something is I will know that starting it is a Bad Idea (tm).

Why couldn't you have posted the announcement on a day/time when I would see the announcement during morning situps, so that I wouldn't click the link at all? (since it is no use wishing you would write stories I could walk away from once I start them)

Ha, knew it was you! The all-round cleverness, sympathy for the pointy blond, beautiful portrayal of Narcissa and use of capitals to flag Very Important Points had my "Bramdar" buzzing. Oh, and the fade-to-black naughtiness!
Cheers, dear,
Charlotte

This fic kept me quite entertained & smiling on a sorta-kinda sick day from work. Everything I love about your writing, in one neat package. Any chance of recruiting you for American political satire next?
