I never remember these things …
I have in the past broken hands, arms, fingers and thumbs, due to a lifetime of flinging myself off horses, bikes, rollerskates, the odd small cliff … (Gravity reliably works, alas!) So you would think that I would remember things one can and cannot do.
Nope.
Every morning for the last 3 and a bit weeks, I have put my bra on as usual, then had to take it off, do it up at the front, then swing it round to the back, as you can only do up bras with two thumbs, or considerably more practise.
You CAN weave, albeit very slowly and more clumsily than usual. I have been working on some narrowares for a class on the weekend, and it is doable.
You can sort of crochet, but it's probably best not to.
Millinery is right out, as you need a thumb to keep everything well formed. Knitting likewise. Sewing is not very possible, unless there's no need for tension and involves no short stitches, so frame embroidery with long stitch is about it
Drawing on the other hand, not hard at all!
You would think this would mean I had managed a lot of drawing practise this month. Alas, I have instead done a lot of failing at other craft. I am never going to pass my Jane Austen Accomplishment Test.

BUT -- I've been wearing a bra for 46 years now, and I've ALWAYS closed the hooks in front. Unhooked in the back, with some contortions, yes, but I'm frankly baffled that there exist people who don't routinely do the "close upfront, then swing 'round" each day! ;-)

Ohhh... all the stuff you've mentioned reminds me that I haven't done any crafts in ages. And I can't even blame it on broken bones... XD
Really need to get back to crocheting. Have wanted to do more with beads, to start with sewing, maybe felting. Instead I let myself be distracted by fanfics... >.>
At least I'm writing, if only a little. ;)
And now the obligatory "Get well soon!" :)

And get well soon!

I've managed the bra thing without out various fingers at times due to dislocation and stuff but not the thumb.
It's always odd to find out the things that involve the injured part and you didn't realise they did.
I was surprised that when I had a pinched nerve in my lower back I couldn't take my pants off. Didn't realise I bent at the waist to do it.
I've had trouble with many things when I end up with one usable arm. I didn't realise how much you moved the shoulder when doing things like getting up out of bed or from the chair.
Around Easter when we did the market I was too tired to be cooking but we had to eat and I ended up cutting chunks out of two fingers, burning the side of my left pointer finger and doing something to my thumb. Managed to spin and knit that weekend but it wasn't comfortable.
Had trouble not spinning the bandaids in to the yarn. Then I'd take it off and the wool would catch on a bit of skin and open it up again.
Ugh.
Hope you continue to heal well.
Surely there's a section on laying around as an invalid in the Jane Austen Accomplishment Test. Seems a very period appropriate thing to do. Though I guess I would't recommend getting dysentery or scarlet fever or anything.

Regarding bras, I've always done mine up in front and turned it around. Too lazy to do it the other way.

Good luck with your continued healing:)

I cackled at "Millinery is right out."
Sorry.
I have the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch sacred reading stuck in my head now.
