AHAHAHAHAHA!

Lovely [livejournal.com profile] inamac  did this online quiz, and since I am reading over one of my old fics in a bid to make sure that the new writing I am doing is not wholly OOC for my own OCs (sigh), I am in desperate need of procrastination!

Anyone who has ever met me in RL will know why I laughed myself silly when I received this response. Anyone who hasn't should know that the laughter was wholly unironic. Many of my earliest memories are of Women's Lib marches, and I spend my days reading from both sides of politics and keeping up with science and economics as much as I can, so it will not surprise you to learn that I am:

Your result for The Social Persona Test (What kind of man/woman are you?)...

The FemiNazi (NLAF)

Normal Liberal Alpha Female

Okay, let's face it. Some people wonder why you don't melt in the rain. However, alpha females are so rare that a little witchiness is worth it. You likely have strongly held convictions and care about society, politics, and the world at large, which only increases your attractiveness. Like the traditional types though, just keep in mind that you may not have all the answers. Despite a difference in interests, The Lord of the Misfits is best for you, as you would never be able to put up with the Frat Boy (NLAM).

You are more NORMAL than QUIRKY.

You are more LIBERAL than TRADITIONAL.

You are more DOMINANT than PASSIVE.

When picking a date, consider: The Lord of the Misfits (QLAM)

There! I am The Rarity (QTAF)

Quirky Traditional Alpha Female.

Hee! I think we are probably v similar (I was surprised to be called normal, but since the chap who wrote it is some 20 years younger than me, no doubt I would appear so!)

I checked out his profile in a bid to find somewhere I could message him, if you are looking to make friends with a slightly short slightly nutty bloke, he looks fun!

That quiz bothers me. :(

It's most definitely aimed at Americans, and people who've reached a certain age, but even then the questions don't have great range. There were quite a few that just didn't have anything I'd pick, so I had to be sort of random/guess, and the questions were phrased really awkwardly.

And I ended up as the same as you, but I really see myself that way.

Sorry to rant at you! Those kind of quizzes never really make sense to me anyway. /o\

OOOH! We could hang out, too! I find that Alpha Females spend their time comparing notes rather than doing the standard Alpha Male competitive thing ;-)

[identity profile] old-enough.livejournal.com 2009-05-16 08:02 am (UTC)(link)
I wound up being a quirky liberal alpha female--The Renaissance Faire Wench (QLAF) which actually was a pretty good description of me as far as it goes.

"The hardest part about being the Renn. Faire Wench is that people often mistake you for a beta female. This is not so. You might be quite flirtatious, but you are hardly relient on men. You like to do things the mainstream would consider weird, (like dress in costume, perhaps?). Eat, drink, and be merry, but make sure whoever you date respects you and does not take advantage of your laid-back attitude. (BTW, you are likely the only type who can see That Creepy Guy (NLBM) for who he is, helping him to bring out the Manga Geek (QLBM) inside. This does not mean you have to date one, however. You are quite flexible and can enjoy the company of many of the types.)

You are more QUIRKY than NORMAL.

You are more LIBERAL than TRADITIONAL.

You are more DOMINANT than PASSIVE.

When picking a date, consider: The Lord of the Misfits (QLAM), The Fratt Boy (NLAM), The Snowball's Chance in Hell (QTBM), The Manga Geek (QLBM), or That Creepy Guy (NLBM)."

Yes, inamac and I were both very bemused by the idea of being perturbed by a 17 year old having a bevvy or two (being falling down drunk would have made for a better question).

But such things can only ever be a bit of silliness of an afternoon. And we would look GORGEOUS in our boilersuits with do-rags. I could even do your hair in a Victory Roll for going out later ;-)

I once did a more 'academic' version of this being a guinea pig for the philosophy graduates at my uni. There was a question: 'Is your mother a good woman?'

I called over the professor and said 'But that's a terrible question! She's a great woman but a kind of shoddy mum, however she's a fabulous advocate for women and a great achiever ... what are you actually asking?'

He hummed, and said, 'Just pick one at random ...'

Plus ça change ...

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-05-16 08:08 am (UTC)(link)
Let me know if you ever want to dress-up, I have a great collection of props ;-) (Not the smutty kind! Well, a tiny bit of the smutty kind, but mostly I could form my own AmDram company with ease ...)
ext_7906: (bandom - gerard - how so cute?)

[identity profile] complications-g.livejournal.com 2009-05-16 08:14 am (UTC)(link)
Heh, yeah. ;)

:D Lovely!

That is very ambiguous, I would very much want an answer. I love how you asked too. ;)

And I noticed that MCR mention up there, and I love it. :D Though, not so much with the emo, they are just big adorable geeks! They want to save your life!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-05-16 08:17 am (UTC)(link)
I tried to be dismissive about MCR on principle, as I am meant to be saying 'Young people today ...' a lot, but I just couldn't. They ARE adorable! And more talented than I had thought on first listen, too, not just nice and disposable at all. I feel like my father when he first heard David Bowie ...

[identity profile] catsintheattic.livejournal.com 2009-05-16 08:20 am (UTC)(link)
Of course - comparing notes is much more fun. And the competitive thing is not good for the health, too. :-)

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-05-16 08:22 am (UTC)(link)
Why compete when you can join forces and take over the world?
ext_7906: (bandom - jersey boys)

[identity profile] complications-g.livejournal.com 2009-05-16 08:26 am (UTC)(link)
:DDD

They're not even that young though! Gerard's about to have a baby! [Heh, like that's some kind of measurement of age or maturity, but still. ;)]

They're catchy, and fun, and have songs that are different and interesting! Have you heard Teenagers? You'll probably like that one. ;)

And if you feel the inclination to branch out, you should totally check out the fic! ;D The MCR part of Bandom has some truly amazing writers. ♥

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-05-16 08:29 am (UTC)(link)
I fear Bandom. I know that if I so much as dipped my toe into the waters, I would be doomed, since so many smart and talented people live there. I read a Merlin fic this week, and I had to haul myself back and give myself a stern talking to. Happily, it seems to be the best Merlin fic ever, so I don't need to read any more ;-)

And I've not heard Teenagers! Off to YouTube ...

If there's any MCR [or other Bandom] music you wanted I'm happy to upload, or actually, I think my links are still good here.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-05-16 08:38 am (UTC)(link)
OMG! That is a BRILLIANT SONG! And so true; kids today are going to have it just as hard as we did in the late 80s (it was v hard, due to a similar economic contraction) but with higher prices for everything. And half of them have parents who think that their behaviour is pathological when they want to do perfectly normal things like rebel or experiment a bit.

I used to have a little nap under my desk at school when I was bored; teachers allowed this so long as I was ahead in my work and not bothering anyone. These days they'd shove me into therapy and medicate me.

I'll have a potter around the links later, thanks!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-05-16 08:39 am (UTC)(link)
Well, the guy who wrote the test clearly has particular tastes ;-)

I think you would need to have a degree of intestinal fortitude to carry off the outfit!

Can't say I appreciate the Nazi label.
How is genocide comparable to wanting equal freedoms?

But lovely result!!
Amusing quiz to take.
GO YOU!
