Oooooh dear ...

Apparently, an American school principal told a lad to go home and change because his kilt could be misconstrued as crossdressing.

A local news source on the story includes this helpful line:
Kilts are traditional Scottish apparel, generally worn by men, often for formal or special occasions.
and some interesting comments.

But this source has the best picture editor ...

Dear bubba, that last link could stand as a birthday present to you! Have a very happy one, [livejournal.com profile] eynhashofet , you deserve it!

And [livejournal.com profile] silenceofcedars , I hope that the cake and good wishes fairy has rolled up to your house a little pleasantly tipsy and settled in for the duration.

It's one of my favourites, and I was so happy that it only took me 45 seconds to find a news story using it. My other fave, which you can read about the veracity of, is here: http://www.snopes.com/photos/risque/queen.asp

That one's great, too. As for the queen not looking very comfortable, that's pretty much how she always looks, isn't it?

I'm sure his soldiers will get mileage out of this one for a LONG time. :D
