Best wedding ever

Do take a look. The photos are the best part. After the initial shock, I decided that Yanna is a champion, as she clearly knows exactly what she wants in life, and damn those who suggest otherwise.

I think she looks like she's having the time of her life! The day clearly went exactly as she wanted it to, which is the main thing, and is obviously very her. Well done and good on her, I say.

Not my style for a wedding, but it wasn't MY wedding, so why should my taste dictate what someone else does? She looked happy, which is what counts. After all, it was HER day. *nods*

Strangest wedding I ever attended was one (not in Vegas, but in small-town Ontario) with an Elvis-impersonator, The Reverend Elvis Priestly (who later ran for public office) conducting the service. The bride and groom loved it, so that was what was important (though it was admittedly a bit surreal).

Loved the photos. Can't imagine what that priest must have been thinking. I'm glad you had a nice time and thanks for sharing.

Peace,
Bubba

I fully agree with you. Her dress isn't my taste, and the mens's outfits are a little...unusual, but she obviously likes it, and surely that's all that matters.

I think the bridesmaids look fabulous - she obviously didn't want to shine at their expense. I love the cake, and think the reception hall looked amazing.

Fair play to you, Yanna, I say!

It's funny - I hate that dress, but by the end of the photos, I'd decided that she looks great in it! So yeah, whatever she was doing, it obviously worked, and she had a great time. Fair play to her.

i'm a bit baffled as to the hoohaw about it. sure her dress is a bit odd, but lots of wedding dresses are strange creations. the rest of the wedding looks pretty average. okay, not the cake, but honestly who really cares? people are odd ducks for wanting to make fun of some people that obviously had a lovely time. [*shrugs*]

Awesomest cake ever..

She's kind of awesome really.

I liked the pink crystals. I still don't know whats going on with the bottom of that dress. :-/ And that's not a slur to her, just...so much floof on the bottom baffles me.

She's a star! A star with rather tacky taste in wedding gowns, but there you are.

I love the caption on photo 13: 'The wedding had a pink and black theme.' Yes, I think I'd noticed something like that by then...

You know what my biggest complaint was? I dislike black as a bridesmaid dress color xD That's 100% personal taste, black just never seems...festive enough for me. I'm big on color. I DO like the color contrast she chose. The pink against all the black does pop.

While I would have personally made some different choices, this wasn't MY wedding, so who am I to complain? Her wedding stands out and it looks like everyone had a good time. Mission accomplished.

When I was (briefly) engaged a few years back, I told my sister that I wanted a picnic-style reception in a garden. Nothing outrageous. Some iced tea, finger sandwiches, that sort of stuff. She said that was a little too "everyday" gathering. I had to point out that it was MY wedding that I was paying for. Hell, if I wanted to hire a clown, that was my choice to make.

...hell i'd go to that wedding. i wouldn't even say anything about her dress. :p

I still boggle at someone who decides to take someone else's wedding snaps from facebook and circulate them around as a joke. I guess like all internet stuff, you can control what you put out there, but not always what your friends upload or what their privacy settings are.

But I love that she's not ashamed to say "hey, this is what I wanted and I had a fantastic day". I can think of far worse things that could have been taken off someone's facebook and circulated!

Actually, I really like that cake...

Your wedding day is when you can do what you want, and you should! No one should tell the happy couple different.
