Drive-by am not kidnapped by aliens post

Brammers: Oh god, apparently five of my friends have invited me to be on Facebook.

Brammers' young friend: OMIGOD! I can't believe you're not on Facebook! You should totally be there!

B: I'm old, dear, the first number in my age is a four.

BYF: You're NOT old. And besides, my mum is in her forties and she's on Facebook.

B: I'm old and I have no children I need to stalk on Facebook. Also, I'll just be over there having a little cry for the next few minutes ...

Back to the work, editing and writing. Slowly catching up!

Alas, in my case it is usually MY crappy letter writing skills, but otherwise, EXACTLY!

Yes, those oldies are plotting something. They say 'virtual farm', but they mean Coalition for Proper Language and Trousers that Cover One's Knickers!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-07-28 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
The oldies are using it for nefarious means!

Since I am virtuous, I am staying well away ;-)

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-07-28 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I have so little time, my theory is that when my friends realise I've not responded to facebook invites for a while, they'll ring or email me ;-)

I think that facebook is designed for people exactly unlike me: I hate having my photo taken, would rather write something long than short, and like to be able to hide when I want to ;-)

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-07-28 02:35 pm (UTC)(link)
EXACTLY!!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-07-28 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
You're one of the people who I could see as being a useful user of it. Alas, most of the people who invite me just want someone to play long-distance scrabble with ;-)

I knew we were twins on the Important Matters.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-07-28 02:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee. You, like kareina, are one of the few people I know who would use it sanely.

Twitter is great for I am Here, Where Are You? and I Have A Short and Hilarious Comment To Make, but that's about it ...

[identity profile] kareina.livejournal.com 2009-07-28 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
lol--I ignore *all* of the games and other silly applications--just reading the one-liners my friends post about what they are up to takes enough hours out of my week (I read them in Google Reader, so as to be certain I'm not missing anything important--trying to read them all in Facebook, where the things they type are interspersed with their results from silly quizzes takes too much extra effort (unless I'm *bored*)

[identity profile] spark-of-chaos.livejournal.com 2009-07-28 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, such as, say, FB :)

Okay, now to some major decision-making: we know who is the prophetic twin, all we have to decide now is who will be the tall one. :nods: :g:

I am yet a Facebook and twitter holdout, despite much peer pressure. Fortunately peer pressure often just makes me more contrary.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-07-28 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Statistics say it's very probably you ;-)

[identity profile] spark-of-chaos.livejournal.com 2009-07-28 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I somehow doubt that! At 5'2" it'd be a first! Not that I'd mind, see, just... :))

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-07-28 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
5'1"!! My friend feralcheryl is 5'2", she stands next to me at every available opportunity since it's the only time she looks tall in photos.

XDDD I actually think facebook is a requirement for some of the classes I've been in, because we use it to organize everything.

[identity profile] snottygrrl.livejournal.com 2009-07-29 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
well, being as neither my brother nor i use it, i think my folks are doing other things on it, but they may well be nefarious. [*grins*]

[identity profile] spark-of-chaos.livejournal.com 2009-07-29 12:56 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL, I can totally understand her! My little sister is taller than me now, and has been for a while, and let me tell you, it's not helping my authority much :) On the other hand, being always in the first row in pictures is a a non-debatable thing!

(But see if I don't start signing myself 'the taller twin' :p)
