I know that Americans, Canadians and many Europeans are unable to fathom why we care so much about the Ashes. It's akin to a war, mixed with the Olympics, mixed with the bedrock or national pride.

I will say that the Australian team can hold their heads high at the way they have doggedly fought through this innings. Now if they could just lose so I can go to sleep!

ETA: THEY DID IT! THEY DID IT! WHO NEEDS SLEEP? Bless you Flintoff, you are a gem.

I am so out of touch with Aussie cricketers, but Ricky Ponting, really? He has an elfin touch to his face, and those cricket-shaped bodies are way so much better than those ugly baseball bods they have over here... yuk!
