A simple good news story

I'm a bit tired and bleagh at the moment, and I know that I'm not the only one. So I thought I would share this story from the Sydney Morning Herald.

For those wondering whether or not to click the link, the precis is: Little old deaf dog gets lost and becomes trapped, many big burly men rescue him. HAPPY ENDING. Big burly men fob off praise, family reunited with much-loved pet, dog thumps tail cheerfully. And there's video.

And now we wait for the movie deal...

On the one hand, I miss stories like that in the papers. Stories not about how grotesquely someone died, how someone shamelessly lied and thieved, political bs, but a story how something was done well. On the other hand, there are places out there where a disappearing human won't get even approximately the treatment this dog had. Am I crazy to read good news with cynicism? I think it's a day like that for me today.

Oh so its a soppy animal stories kind of day is it?

It was a cute story. Good to know the Aussies are just as barmy about their dogs as the British :)

I like happy endings. This article restored my faith
in people and their acts of help and kindness. Thanks.

It's such a lovely story. Pets do get into the oddest places. *g8
