Oooooh ...
There is a catastrophic fire danger alert in place for parts of South Australia tomorrow. It's the first outing for the new fire warning, which is explained in the PSAs along the lines of 'Leave immediately, or you may die.'. It will be 39 degrees C, !00F, which is part of a month of record heatwave conditions for the state. It's still SPRING. Summer looks horribly grim.

Maybe Summer will be okay after a super hot Spring. We got snowstorms early winter last year but the later part of the season ended up to be pretty mild. There's hope *nods*

I'm so glad I live down here, where we have civilised weather.
A catastrophic fire danger warning IN SPRING?!? Perhaps they should just evacuate the whole state now...

I definitely agree with you about the Catastrophic warning. I'm hoping they can work out how to use it properly to really emphasise when we do have those extreme exceptional conditions.

I really hope summer won't be worst. *crosses fingers for you*

Port Lincoln itself was saved but many of the people living in outlying properties and townships lost everything. The
fire was within 30km of Port Lincoln and travelling at 100km per hour when the wind changed.

I just hope we don't see anything like Victoria last summer. :(
