RIP Miep Gies. You lived a good life and left the world better than you found it. May we have the courage to do likewise, and the fortune to never need it.
One of the things that keeps my chin up is the fact that she, and many people like her, have all said that they did not see themselves as brave, only that there was one right way to act, so they did. It gives me hope that if it comes to the crunch, most of us will find similar strength within ourselves. Especially since we have seen the alternatives.
