Meme post one

Leochi picked me among her 10 lj people who make my day list. The rules are simple, if picked, make your own list of lj people who make your day (previously done lists count!) Except there is no way I can name just 10 people. You're all too amazing. So I am shamelessly cheating and have 10 groups and even then I am leaving out many people who should be here.

[personal profile] anthimaeria and [personal profile] jadzialove: I genuinely find it hard to remember that I don't see you two regularly in real life. In addition to being compassionate, funny and thoughtful, you write with wit and style, and you both have great hair.
[profile] dumbys_baby : you have a group of your own because I actually do see you regularly. You're just lovely in every way, and I hope everything goes smoothly at Easter. Write more fic, dammit.
[profile] sansa1970, [personal profile] bryoneybrynn, [profile] calanthe_fics and [profile] nqdonne: you all started off as just writers I liked (and the first three of you have also been huge influences), and then became friends I look forward to chatting to. I hope that all the things in your lives that are causing you stress and difficulty resolve themselves smoothly and swiftly.
[profile] house_illrepute, [profile] shiv5468 and [personal profile] pir8fancier: I nod so much at your posts that sometimes I feel a tiny bit stalkerish. I'd like to point out that if I were a stalker, I would be the type that comes bearing quality alcohol or handspun alpaca and knocks off at 5.30pm.
[profile] lackofmendacity, [personal profile] thady and [profile] romaine24: you three are kind, gentle and gracious, which are old-fashioned qualities but ones the world is in desperate need of.
[personal profile] leochi, [profile] djinniyah, and [personal profile] lillithium: as people, you all make me smile. But as artists you change the way that I look at HP and make me think about my writing in ways that I never would without you.
[personal profile] pushdragon  and [personal profile] snottygrrl , we WILL hang out in person in the next few months, dammit. I am not enduring the idiocy of this year without meeting people I know I already like.
[profile] bubblegumlocks, [profile] emerald_dragon8, and [personal profile] slian_martreb: it's been a while since I was a young person, but the three of you remind me of what it was like. You all have so much fortitude and ability. Even when things seem crap, I know that your futures will be shiny, because you all are.
[personal profile] grey_hunter, [personal profile] winstonmom and [profile] daisy_chan: you three take time out from your own work to regularly encourage the work of others. You are examples that I am trying to follow more closely.
[personal profile] frayach, [personal profile] furiosity and [personal profile] fourth_rose , you are the three whose stories and updates make me late for work. This month has been rubbish since you are all otherwise occupied (mostly -- off to finish Interregnum next!). If I ran the universe you would have large fic stipends and comfy chairs. It helps that you all seem to be the sort of people I would cheerfully hang out with.

Glad we found each other! *hugs*

I treasure you for your quick wit, irreverent attitude, and compassion. And I adore your writing to bits.

Happy Valentine's Day (or I should say the day after V-Day! ♥

And I am so jealous that you will be meeting [livejournal.com profile] pushdragon. ;)

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-02-14 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Hugs back!!

Melbourne is not so far from Sydney, and they have better bars.

(I keep laughing when Americans say V-Day or VD, I think of Winston Churchill and the clap respectively.)

Awww, you're a cute sweetheart :-) ♡

As are you, though I think of you as a strikingly elegant sweetheart, because there's enough cute around.

The Three F's - and you know what's funny is that Furiosity and I actually share a birthday, although she is at least a decade younger than me, and therefore, by definition wins. Unless we're playing by the "age before beauty" rule :D

I'll take both the stipend and the comfy chair, thank you very much! *rubs sore back* Oh, and the "otherwise occupied" equals writing frantically for Worldcup, Big Bang and Beltane (not to mention about five different WIPs and/or sequels). So the drought is merely temporary, I promise ;)

*smooches*

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 08:27 am (UTC)(link)
Germaine Greer and I share a birthday ... but I think she is still ahead. I suspect that you might be, too, even if you have more crowsfeet. Because she still has so many daft cock-ups left to tick off in life!

I shall seek to advance my plans for global takeover. And look forward to Worldcup being revealed!

*Smooches back*

If you bring alcohol and alpaca you can stay till six, and I'll make you a cup of tea.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you better

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 08:27 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, tea. I'll bring my spindle.

Can you take over the universe soon, please? (I don't think I've ever said that to anyone before ;)

I'm sure it would be great to hang out with you - damn all that water that's in the way...

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 08:34 am (UTC)(link)
I would be a lovely tyrant. Yes there would be summary exile to an unpleasant island for everyone who really annoys me, but aside from a stack of political and religious figures and exes of mine, most people would reap the rewards of my enlightened reign.

Will work on global dominance, or at least wealth accrual so that oceans become irrelevant.

[identity profile] calanthe-fics.livejournal.com 2008-02-14 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
There is no one else I'd rather discuss my sexual misadventures with. No one at all.

:D

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
Same here. You make me feel so much less strumpetty and so much more a source of amusing anecdote. XXX BB

[identity profile] romaine24.livejournal.com 2008-02-14 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)
kind, gentle and gracious *snicker* My poor children might disagree with you. Once again, we had the morning lecture on why one should brush their teeth, hair, and change their underwear daily.

I want to hang out, drink, and talk about sex, too. Maybe next year :)

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 08:36 am (UTC)(link)
Children are there to be oppressed. Tell them that the more housework they do independently, the less nagging you will do automatically.

We'll find you an au pair and you can come in on the bad behaviour.

[identity profile] lillithium.livejournal.com 2008-02-14 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you ♥

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 08:38 am (UTC)(link)
Thank *you*. Your art makes me think.

[identity profile] pir8fancier.livejournal.com 2008-02-14 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Love back at you, darling!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 08:39 am (UTC)(link)
You're so right about the likelihood of forgetting people off lists like these, but what the hell.

[identity profile] emerald-dragon8.livejournal.com 2008-02-14 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! <3 This meme is exactly why I love having you on my flist - you're such a nice, considerate and caring person! I wish everyone I dealt with in RL could be just like you!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 08:42 am (UTC)(link)
Short and sarcastic? Well, I suppose that it would be a funnier world if they all were ... although the people associated with reality TV would be unemployed, poor lambs.

[identity profile] bryoneybrynn.livejournal.com 2008-02-14 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Is it pathetic that I'm all blushy and giggly that I made the list? Because I am awfully enamoured of you (plus a little scared of you; I am afraid of all people who appear competent and/or smarter than me - grad school thing, I think), so this post gives me the smiles.

And on an unrelated note to this post but relevant to a previous one - I also have shorter and chestnutier hair!!! The same day you posted that, I did a dye job. I swear, the BB thing, strange psychic connection...

Anyway, I heap my admiration upon you. *heaps*

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 08:53 am (UTC)(link)
Fear not my brains (for they are a tad scrambled). Fear my uncanny ability to give orders and have them obeyed by young children (it helps that such orders are usually along the lines of "Run! Attack!")

Clearly, there is a BB look. We should exchange notes. Where do you stand on Chanel lipstick?

*Oof* catches admiration, and throws some of it straight back at you!
who_la_hoop: (bite him to death)

[personal profile] who_la_hoop 2008-02-14 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
You do know that I'm never, ever speaking to you again because I didn't make your list, right?

*dons scratch-proof gloves and steals your cat* :D

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 08:57 am (UTC)(link)
Cat has asthma! Is just back from vet with new probable diagnosis. She has X-rays scheduled for Monday morning. To help her, I have booked in my hot young 20-ish male friend to come around and remove all the asthma-causing weeds from my garden. Please, universe, let it be a hot day so he will take off his shirt.

You were meant to be on this list, but, as you will note if you read the other meme post, I have the memory of a rather stupid fish. I admire everything about you from your writing to your sarcasm, and your fiendish catnapping plans.

sold, and sold!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 08:58 am (UTC)(link)
Excellent, I'll just work on the independent wealth and then take it up. Have read Jasper Fforde? I like his registered stalkers a lot.

Awwwww... *quites likes being old-fashioned* :)

(My hair's not bad either, you know. ;D)

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 08:59 am (UTC)(link)
I had suspected you would have great hair.

And I am all for old-fashioned, as my often 16th-century spelling attests.

*smooches you*

Isn't it a funny medium? How bizarre to feel the presence of someone in your life who is a whole planet away!

The retirement village awaits, and we will spend many hours together, ogling the enjoying the uhm view and writing fic, when we're not on the water.

Happy Valentine's day to you--it still is here for another hour and forty-three minutes.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-02-21 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh so late reply ...

YES! That's how I feel, even if we've been poorly timed for chatting this week. Hope that all is well! I'm buying a roving modem tomorrow wo that I can chat with you on my lunch breaks next week when I go back to work.

And yes, the retirement home awaits!

[identity profile] snottygrrl.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 09:39 am (UTC)(link)
yes, there will be hanging out or there will be tantrums and tears and general badness.

thanks for including me in your list and wanting to meet me in person.

[*snogs*]

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-02-21 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)

And of course I want to meet you, you are cool. BTW, have you seen this year's prizes at Armageddon? Quite good!

Oh, what a lovely, sweet post! The world needs more appreciation. *applause*

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-02-21 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
This comment was what made me decide I would try and be appreciative of others at least once a week. You've begin a BB trend!

[identity profile] daisy-chan.livejournal.com 2008-03-12 11:13 am (UTC)(link)
Oh my goodness! I completely missed this back when I was bogged down with exams, and not commenting on this entry is pretty horrible (but ironic!) of me.

Thank you so much for singling me out of all the people who show their love for your work. Commenting is something that none of us do as often as we probably should, but knowing how much it matters to excellent authors like yourself, make it worth the few minutes it really takes. I just wish I would articulate them better. ^^;

*hugs*

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-03-12 12:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Not horrible at all! Real life is meant to take priority over LJ! But I am glad that you were able to notice a small comment on how much I appreciate you. This month has been hellish for me, but in honour of you and a few others, I am spending the month after Worldcup as a rec month, and making sure that I comment on everything, too.

And you are perfect in your articulation! Not to mention the hugs.
