Advent-ures in advent!

Presents wrapped, food bought, house reasonably tidy ... and I just realised that I forgot to go up the road for Midnight Mass that's starting in ten minutes, but then I also remembered that I'm an atheist and while I like the singing, I have a croaky voice at the moment, so crisis averted!
Meanwhile, the Monster Cat has a game where she runs through the house, down the long hallway, through the living room, through the kitchen, to fling herself high up on the back screen door where she hangs for a minute or two, then runs in the other direction to hang off the front screen door. Being undisciplined disrespecters of the rights of door mesh, we praise her for this and laugh uproariously.
Today she had a sprint towards the front door and we heard the following Crash!Thump! as she landed. Dutifully the two of us put our heads out into the hallway to see the cat silhouette sprawled on the door and praise her, but this time our eyes were drawn outside to the figures of two small girls standing, open mouthed, staring at the hanging cat not 10 feet from the pavement.
Their dad assured them it was all fine, but I swear I heard one little voice asking why the cat was after them.
Is it wrong that I quietly answered 'Brains!'?
Travel safely to your Christmas do's, dears, and have a lovely relaxing day those of you in Christmassy countries who don't partake!

Date: 2010-12-25 08:01 am (UTC)I love going to the local zoo to see the tigers - you can pay to feed them (with tongs through a small hole in a large sheet of perspex) and its fun watching the kids, because the tigers see them as bite sized snacks and will stalk them through the fencing. Maybe your cat was channelling its inner tiger:)
