My friends, I announce to you an auspicious moment. We are now proper Australians as my beloved has given me a barbecue!

I have a long post of thanks for undeserved generosities and kindnesses, but am about to sink into a pavlova coma, be back later when I can thank people in a more sophisticated manner than the immortal words of Jeff Fenech: 'I love youse all!'

(Though I do!)

(And now you can all rock around and I can throw shrimps on the barbie! Even though they're prawns, and I have never liked them, and it seems cruel ... barbecue vegie salad?)

Ooh is/was it your birthday? Many happy returns, and I would like to announce to all present that Brampton is the finest company one could have on a stopover in Sydney and the best tour guide ever. Hope the thank you e-mail has wended its way through the ether, and have a wonderful year. (Barbecue time is beginning to sound like the walrus and the carpenter!)
