The inquiry into the Victorian bushfires continues. Today it heard that the fires burned with the intensity of 1500 atomic bombs of the type dropped on Hiroshima. Bloody terrifying.

On the topic of fires, is anyone in California? There was the briefest mention of wildfires in the news here, then nothing.

And Italy? How goes the earthquake clean-up? Has everyone been housed? I need to have an extra three hours in the day to keep up with world news, bloody economic downturn has been eating the news cycles for the last year ...

In more cheerful news, anyone living in or near Sydney should check out Mulberry Street at 50 Enmore Rd, Newtown. Gorgeous designer and vintage second-hand fashion and accessories. I picked up a fantastic camel leather Gucci handbag for $40, the label was not a deciding factor in my purchase (more of a cause to pause, I prefer small artisinal designers), but it would normally have seen the price double or treble. AT LAST I have the prefect bag for serious occasions.

If you do love labels, there was a lot of LV product in the shop, a gorgeous Sass & Bide frock at a good price, and some Louis Vuitton black leather boots, classic styling, probably about a size 8 or 9, for $95. But even better, there was a really well curated selection of vintage. If anyone out there can wear a yellow large-checked Chanel-style 1960s suit, about a 10-12, tall, there is a GORGEOUS one there!

Bryoney is updating her giant H/D rec list ,if you are able to pick your top three from 2008/2009, go and let her know what they are here! Alas, I have not a hope in hell of picking three, so I just wish her well.

Penultimately, Cal is updating her fandom recipe book. If you have a recipe we all should know, or a food-related drabble, or would like to edit, shoot pics or do some test cooking, go and comment here!

Finally, there is an anonymous writing meme going around that some of you are participating in. I am rubbish at anonymous thingies, if you ever want to leave concrit for me, feel free. I can't remember if my settings allow anonymous comments, but given that some of my closest friends have hated at least one or two of my fics, I can promise you I won't be offended. I still like them, and I still like the fics.

OOPS, just remembered in time! that was not finally. Can someone please point me in the direction of the tentacle porn I read recently. You know who you are, flister! I went to go back there and had the biggest mental blank of the week!

Cheers dears, and stay well.
