Er, my Haiti auction closed on Saturday. I remembered this tonight. It helps if you think of me as being something like a red setter: shiny glossy coat swinging in the breeze, bright big eyes, warm damp nose, really, really abstracted.

ANYWAY, on to our winners! Out in front was the lovely and self-sacrificing [livejournal.com profile] emerald_dragon , bless her! Who saved me from the terrifying consortium of [livejournal.com profile] pushdragon  and [livejournal.com profile] meredyth_13 , and their threated Twilight porn (probably. Emerald, if you're planning on asking for a sequel or DVD extra, you may yet have your wish AND some unexpected comedy, for a given value of comedy.) In third place was [livejournal.com profile] theburningboy 's mum, HOWEVER, I have a caveat. Although I did not ban consortiums, they are clearly evil. Therefore, tbb's mum can have equal second place, and have her choice of whichever two options emerald does not choose.

The random prize was won by [livejournal.com profile] hitsuzen_hime , who was drawn from the literal hat by Mr Brammers.

If anyone above has already spent all their donation money, that's fine, just let me know and we will go to the next on the list (I have left the slips in the hat should it come to that!)

Otherwise, winners, get in touch with receipt numbers, and Emerald, you have first pick! Hurrah! Thank you very very much to everyone who bid, you are all complete champions!

Wow! If the numbers I've seen today are taken up at even half the level pledged, fandom is into the tens of thousands for Haiti. Sometimes working together is amazing.

A few links:
If you like your fics porny, plotty, cleverly character-driven, achingly angsty and probably mammoth, go and bid on [livejournal.com profile] bryoneybrynn's offering here (flocked, alas)! She's also offering concrit of a fic up to 25K, and because she is much nicer than I am, hers has no possibility of making you cry.

If you like fast-paced, brilliantly left of centre but stunningly bright and achingly erotic ficlets, go to [livejournal.com profile] pushdragon 's lj and read the rules of her upcoming ficlet auction.

Looking for character-driven stories with complexity and twists that can break your heart? Look no further than [livejournal.com profile] jamie2109  and her (again, sadly flocked) post here.

Looking for something else, including wristwarmers, biscuits, and fanfic for the Elizabethan or Jacobean play of your choice (I ADORE THIS ONE!!), go to [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti  and check out the hundreds of offers that are available there! I'll be doing more links to that comm tomorrow, my right arm is just a bit buggered today, so short posts for me.

Finally, if you like your fics theoretically sane and complex, but actually usually deranged, you can bid on a fic from me, or on an extra for an extant fic, or, if you have always wanted people to write somewhat rambling essays that range between intensely practical tips and excursions into post-modernism about your own writing, I'm also offering concrit. Check out the offer and bid post here, now with added closing date!

About a year ago, Victoria was engulfed by fires and my flist was filled with spontaneous acts of human decency. Now Haiti has suffered a devastating earthquake, and I'd like to do what little bit I can.

Haiti has been a nation teetering on the edge of disaster for decades. Its economy is shot to hell, buildings and infrastructure are crap, and international aid agencies there are already stretched in the wake of multiple cyclones in the last few years. They need help.

The Red Cross and Oxfam both have Haiti funds (use the drop-down menu on the ICRC page), and Medicins sans Frontieres and several other aid agencies work there, too.

SO. In a bid to raise a bit of dosh for Haitians, I offer up the following:

* A story of reasonable length to your prompts, in a genre of your choice, taking as read that I don't do porn, sexual violence, or serious mpreg. Potter fic is probably your best bet, but I feel sure I could do Sherlock Homes or Austen fic if it came to that. You can ask!

* A concrit of a story or stories of yours up to 30K. Not a beta, but things like 'This bit should be over there. Ideally, you need a bit more explanation as to why this is happening. You do really well at creating this character's voice, well done! This bit is anachronistic. OK, variation in tone, let's talk about it ...' Just be warned that if you pick this one, I will be gentle and encouraging, but that's my version of gentle and encouraging, which may not be yours.

* A scene from one of my existing fics, written in discussion with you. Could be a sequel, 'deleted scene', the next bit of one of my shameful WiPs ...

How do you get 'em? Bid in comments! Top bid gets first choice, second second, third what's left. Money goes to major aid agency working on the Haiti emergency (can be split between multiple agencies). My one stipulation is that it's not an organisation that gives aid dependent on religion.

Don't have loads of cash? Don't worry! Bid anyway and I will choose a random person using a hat and bits of paper and they'll get their choice on payment of their donation no matter what it is!

Bids close at midnight Sydney time (GMT +11) on Saturday January 23rd, delivery should be by Easter, though if you go for fic, I am also happy to send you parts as I write by email, so that you can see what I laughingly refer to as my 'process', if you're interested.

Other people have mentioned they have cunning plans afoot, I will pimp when when more is known!
