It is a truth universally acknowledged that I have the short-term memory of a weasel with ADHD*.

For this reason, when I went to check the flist birthday list yesterday, I had a flicker of a thought saying 'check the big list, not just the short one on the side of your home page!' but then something happened -- a cat walked past, a gust of cool air blew by, or possibly an inhibitory neuron fired -- and I completely failed to click the button that would have reminded me that the other very important person born on January  February 6 is mahaliem ! 

So, for mahaliem  herself, I hope you had the a lovely birthday surrounded by the people you love.

For everyone else, if you are yet to experience the joy that is reading a mahaliem  story, delay no longer! Get over to her LJ and pick one! Clever, comedic and kind, exactly the sort of writing that makes you enjoy every moment of reading and stays with you afterwards.



* It's not all bad, my long term memory is excellent. Alas, the mental filing system attached has a few issues. Say no to minor brain injury, kids!
