HAPPY BIRTHDAYS!
Feb. 28th, 2010 11:48 pmDue to feeling like a damp pair of socks for the last fortnight, I am woefully behind. So ...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY for today to my dear
treacle_tartlet ! I am not at all sorry for luring in you into something so silly, as you are clearly having a lot of fun. I hope that you are able to eat most of your chocs unmolested and that Small Girl waits until she is at least 20 before launching her bid for world domination. And if anyone is yet to read treacle's The Boys Who Stared At One Goat In Particular, head over for a lovely Ron-centric H/D which will teach you just what you can learn about the natural world from living on a goat farm ;-)
Happy birthday for yesterday to the wonderful
delvino . Yes, I know that my extreme crapitude and disorganisation is the reason we have not caught up since Christmas: I have hope that March will be the month!
And for yesterday, too, to
maya_a , I hope it was a splendid day in every way!
I'm particularly embarrassed about missing
who_la_hoop 's birthday on the 22nd, since I did try to adopt her. However, since she and I are both crap at keeping on top of things, due entirely to editing other people's stuff, I am assuming that she will forgive me as readily as I would her for any tardiness and am going to assume she had a brilliant day!
Happy late birthday, too, to the delightful
lokifan , I am glad that life has eased up for you a little and hope the Loads of Time To Get Everything Done Fairy continues to grace you with her presence ;-)
And finally, Happy late birthday to the lovely
leela_cat . Your gorgeous spectral feline always makes me smile when it pops up on my friend's page, and I love to read your posts, even if I am often too disorganised to comment (flist reading before running off to work is NOT a good idea!)
In non-birthday news, I went to the hairdresser yesterday and they cut off far too much and dyed it a colour I do not like. I am torn between making a fuss and demanding a colour fix, and never darkening their doors again. What made it even worse was the apprentice cheerfully telling me that I did not know what I was talking about when I disagreed with him on the intrinsic superiority of tribal cultures over modern cultures.
'Really?' I said. 'You're for female circumcision and childbed fever, and against flushing toilets and antibiotics?'
'Oh we don't really need antibiotics as a culture, they only keep the useless members of society alive.'
In the face of such stupidity, I think I need to either find a new hairdresser, or re-embrace my free-range hippie style ...
