HAPPY BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] oddishly ! You have a smile like the sun and a brain the size of a big ball of flaming gas -- wait, that sounded better before I put it into words -- moving on, your talent, your enthusiasm and your general fabulousness make me so happy to know you, even if I am rubbish at sending you greeting cards in anything like a timely fashion, or indeed to the correct address. I hope that you are having an absolutely spectacular day and fingers crossed I will catch up with you at some point soon, given that we are occasionally both in the same country at the same time!

In completely unrelated news, at work today I was called on to explain how electrical currents can be sequenced, how Excel spreadsheets can be constructed, how to grab an audience in 25 words and how lesbian sex works. I'm not sure whether to be more concerned that my workmates see me as a universal font of knowledge, or rather, expert on a very specific set of categories.

*giggles* but what a specific set! You are a renaissance woman for the 21st century :)

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2011-02-10 12:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I feel certain that I am better at actual Renaissance skills -- geometry, weaving, pigment mixing, logical proofs ... and yet does anyone ever call on me for those? Oh no.

Your day reads as though you are the den mother to a very varied group of inquisitve children or at the very least need your help with their homework, because 'OMG I can't possibly look it up myself, that would take time way from important things like facebook!' Maybe tweens and your coworkers have too much in common hehe.

In my house facebook can be translated to Beyblades- aka spinning tops that battle each other and rewatching That 70's Show for the 497th time.

Sorry for babbling I am leaving now.

Definitely a universal font of knowledge, darling! I bet you also know how to do a French pleat, show a horse and change the light bulb at the back of the oven.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2011-02-10 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Two of those are complementary skills! Let's not forget the glaring holes in my skill set, though. Can change a tire, but I cannot drive ...

[identity profile] raitala.livejournal.com 2011-02-10 01:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh driving! *waves hand dismissively* Any idiot can drive, and many of them do, as your head injury attests.

How to grab an audience in 25 words or less? LESBIAN SEX.

[identity profile] kareina.livejournal.com 2011-02-10 02:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Ok, you've got 23 more words, finish the thought, please ;-)

[identity profile] auntpurl.livejournal.com 2011-02-10 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha ha! Brevity is the soul of lesbian sex. No, wait. Something something.

If you can combine those 4 things from today into a presentation, you could make your living as an after dinner speaker...

[identity profile] deensey.livejournal.com 2011-02-11 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Font of all knowledge??

[identity profile] not-an-elf.livejournal.com 2011-02-11 06:32 am (UTC)(link)
To quote great men "The sun is a miasma of incandescant plasma. The sun isn't made of burning gas"

[identity profile] auntpurl.livejournal.com 2011-02-11 10:00 am (UTC)(link)
The sun is a mass of incandescent gas, it's a giant nuclear furnace! *sings*

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2011-02-11 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, but if I start referring to my friends as incandescent plasma, it sounds as though I want their blood to burst into flames, and that's all wrong!

Also, hello you!

There is not a day that your posts don't make me laugh. <3 I think you're the universal expert on basically everthing, including weasels with ADHD. :D

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2011-02-11 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
They are my speciality! (Though I am totally faking it on string theory, haven't a clue what that's really about.)
