HAPPY BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] oddishly ! You have a smile like the sun and a brain the size of a big ball of flaming gas -- wait, that sounded better before I put it into words -- moving on, your talent, your enthusiasm and your general fabulousness make me so happy to know you, even if I am rubbish at sending you greeting cards in anything like a timely fashion, or indeed to the correct address. I hope that you are having an absolutely spectacular day and fingers crossed I will catch up with you at some point soon, given that we are occasionally both in the same country at the same time!

In completely unrelated news, at work today I was called on to explain how electrical currents can be sequenced, how Excel spreadsheets can be constructed, how to grab an audience in 25 words and how lesbian sex works. I'm not sure whether to be more concerned that my workmates see me as a universal font of knowledge, or rather, expert on a very specific set of categories.

Definitely a universal font of knowledge, darling! I bet you also know how to do a French pleat, show a horse and change the light bulb at the back of the oven.

Two of those are complementary skills! Let's not forget the glaring holes in my skill set, though. Can change a tire, but I cannot drive ...

Oh driving! *waves hand dismissively* Any idiot can drive, and many of them do, as your head injury attests.
