Worst patient in the world

Day five of having minimal voice -- people keep whispering TO me now, including the local shopkeepers. Which is doubly ridiculous, because I have earsful of snot, while they have perfectly good voices. (Sorry about the visual there.)[Poll #1769336]
In other fandom news, the fabbo [livejournal.com profile] fire_juggler  is running the Harry Potter Winter Podfic Fest. What are they looking for? This:
Fic Requirements (there aren't very many): It must be either winter holiday-themed (pick a winter holiday, any winter holiday) or winter-themed (meaning it needs to feature the things we associate with winter, stuff like skiing, or drinking mulled wine, or walking in the snow). Other than that, anything goes. Any length, any genre, any pairing or gen.
BRILLIANT!

I am sure there was something else, but I am sick, and forget.

Mr B threw out all the dairy on bin night, despite some of it being fine. Which meant that we had to go for a walk at 1 this morning so I could have cocoa. I coughed feebly as we made it to the top of the hill that separates Erko from Newtown. 'If we'd been going to the gym for two more months before you gave me this plague,' I said to Mr B, 'then I would look as Pre-Raphaelite as I sound.'

'You? You're the anti-Pre-Raphaelite!' he declared. 'Even when you used to dress like a Victorian, you were all athletic and full of energy. They didn't have jock Pre-Raphaelites! There was no captain of the Pre-Raphaelite hockey team!'

In memory of Lizzie Siddal, I kicked him in the ankle.

Hold on, your poll does not include a "recording my very first podfic, ever, which will be fabulous!" option. Faulty poll is faulty.

Hope you feel better soon!!! ♥

Oh, wait. That's what you'll be doing in October/November! My mistake :D *hugs*

I have an irresistible urge to tick ALL OF THE ABOVE. If you'd said Christmas, it would have been pushing it, but thankfully, because you set the range as the entire month, I think you have plenty of time to both get snowed in on the continent AND get caught in Sydney summer.

Hey, at least you won't be in the Fug of Unpleasantness that is Penrith in the summer. Ugh. Moving away = best thing I ever did.

You and Mr B=cute and/or hilarious :)

Was there a movie about Lizzie Siddal? I forget (and am not sick).

If you really want to be snowed in at Christmas you should probably pick somewhere more "Snow safe" than England or most of France for that matter. I think it should say Norway on that list of yours. *nods*

HOW DARE THE UNIVERSE NOT SHOWER YOU WITH MILLIONS!

They didn't have jock Pre-Raphaelites!

Oh, dear. Um, these gentlemen getting spurned by Fortune look pretty athletic to me...

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_inbetween_/ 2011-08-13 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Who are those four people thinking you'll be doing the dilligent thing? I could look but I'm tired. Also I don't get it *sadface* how would gym have made you less athletic and energetic? And why couldn't you take the packaged milk out of the trash or send off Mr. B on his guilty trip alone? Ah, questions, questions. Drink some carrot juice, I hear it's good against sickness and forgetting - oh wait, that was eyesight. Since my carrots didn't work out again, I also have no memory (I know that doesn't make sense).

Wait - wait - is Lizzie ukulelling as well???

It's never too late to pick up a drinking problem. I am fairly sure I can coach you >.>

With members of her family, wishing desperately she had spent her 20s developing a drinking problem like the more sensible members of said family

In terms of dealing with family... Weed is better than booze. You get the sense of irony and appreciation of the ridiculous while not making a fool of yourself. And if a relative happens to have a country house with well-lit sunny gardens away from the road where one can grow herbs with medicinal properties... hypothetically, you understand... it does make the holidays easier to deal with!

You could easily achieve everything in your poll in a month, but I think I picked out the highlights from your previous Christmas experiences :)

[identity profile] shu-shu-sleeps.livejournal.com 2011-08-13 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Poor Mr B - to receive a kick in the ankle for a perfectly valid comment :)
You have to admit - Lizzie Siddal or not, all those pre-raph women do look ever so slightly.. well, ennui is the only word I can think of....
Whereas you, my dear, are far too much of a firecracker, the energy just radiates enthusing all those around you....
And I gave you three options in the poll, because I can't imagine you being restricted to just one.
Be healthier soon.

I hope you feel better soon. I hate being sick in the summer. Most people consider cold/flu a winter phenomenon. Whenever I get sick in the summer, I always get offended looks and people edge away like there *must* be something terribly wrong with me. LOL.

And, I think "hd_hols_rejects" was a totally cool name. Sounds like a rock band. ;)

I was just reminded you live in the southern hemisphere where it is of course, winter.

*headdesk*

I blame it on the tequila. I do. *nods*

I'd say the pinch hit fic, but this year with so many people missing the lottery, I'll bet they'll be lined up for pinch-hits. So I vote for the ukelele concert.

lol at the concept of jock pre-raphaelites.

blargh for australian summer.

try not to whisper too much. it sends a lot of air over the vocal chords, and that's not great for them at the best of times. :(
