More shelfy goodness!
The remaining Ikea shelves are up, the locals have taken care of the old bookshelf (in 15 minutes! New record time!). The books are mostly sorted, the duplicates are ready to be given away (and WHO has three copies of The Dubliners? What was I on?!) and old magazines that I have no articles in ready to be recycled.
So, after a weekend of domestic virtue, in which I even fed some friends' cats and helped a promising young writer with beta-ing, you would think that the universe would reward me with a warm inner glow.
No. Aching wisdom teeth. Sigh. And Revenge of the Sith is the only non-Olympic related thing on telly. Bah. Anything that can make Ewan MacGregor seem charisma-free is to be shunned. I am taking my book and my hot toddy and going to bed.

I had my wisdom teeth removed when I was 19 -- I don't feel any less wise. Which I guess isn't saying anything really: as is quite the norm, I wasn't particularly wise at 19. That being said, I never do have to deal with an attack of wisdom teeth pain. And believe me when I tell you that their absence has not affected my eating whatsoever. So, there's some wisdom for you.

HaHaHaHa! And how! Although the Episode 3 is only bad, unlike the other prequel and spin-off abominations. The final Vader/Obi Wan battle is worth watching. (Vader's sexy when he's all sweaty in the lava river. *shrug*)
Sorry about the wisdom teeth. :(

Dude. It happens. I, myself, have two copies because when you get it into your head that you just *must* read "The Dead" again or die, there's only one thing to do about it and that's to drive to your nearest bookstore and buy another copy :D
Speaking of The Dubliners check out the frightening one-line synopsizes of each story on Wikipedia. While they're all accurate, they manage to squeeze every drop of magic from the stories until they're just dried up husks. I mean, my god! The synopsis of "Araby" would make God himself weep!
Also, I'm with you on the Olympics. I'm absolutely furious about their happy little lala land tone. I happened to catch a glimpse of footage from Tiananmen Square last night and had to remove myself from the room or risk going off on an hour-long tirade. My husband has been informed he may only watch them with the volume turned down so low that I'm unaware of their presence in my house.
And lastly? The Star Wars movies would be funny if they weren't so very sad. *shakes head* It was quite a feat they accomplished, though: making watching Liam Neeson and Ewan MacGregor about as interesting as watching grass grow is no small undertaking.

As for that movie, I really don't ever need to see it again. Disappointment would be a major understatement.
