Home!

With only minimally bleeding nose (some of the capillaries are a wee bit fragile due to repeated breaking and do not cope well with sneezing when very dry. No, [livejournal.com profile] anthimaeria , I am really not hiding a secret history as a stuntwoman ;-)) I have made it home, to a happy J and two conflicted kitties. They keep running up to me for pats, then remembering they are meant to be cranky with me and jumping off the bed in crankiness.

The house is a tiny bit of a cat-covered disaster, which I take to mean that J has spent the whole time I have been away pining. This is right and proper.

Some of you may be wondering what the Florence meetup girls look like. As a guide, here we are represented by the Great Artists and Photographers. Here's [livejournal.com profile] raitala :

[livejournal.com profile] pingrid  ...

vaysh ...

anthimaeria ...

shiv5468 ...

... and me.

These are great! I've got my pouty face on :D

They are all such great matches - I'm particularly struck by your Vay choice, it's perfect and I wouldn't immediately have thought of BJ.

[identity profile] vaysh11.livejournal.com 2008-11-19 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh wow - uncanny similarities, really, all of them. You certainly got my sharp nose right ;-) and everything else about my representation is serious and unabashed flattery. Yours is very accurate, especially the face and hair. And I always imagined [livejournal.com profile] pingrid holding some poor duck's throat ;-). I am extremely partial to Shiv's exposed right nipple, now that I learned that rolling it between thumb and forefinger is a gesture of offering her up for marriage and means nothing else whats'o'ever.

Sounds like a wonderful time was had by all!

Oh, to be European and classic... *sighs*

I'm a little ol' Georgia O'Keefe poppy.

*welcome back hugs*

Vaysh looks just as I imagined. Glad you're home safely.

Peace,
Bubba

Love them! Glad you all had a good time, despite illness.

[identity profile] pingrid.livejournal.com 2008-11-19 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah yes, we here in the North find that nipple-pinching to be a frivolous affectation and prefer to offer dead ducks as a sign of availability. ;)

Did you get the betaed story back alright, BTW, or must I replace the duck with my ISP?

[identity profile] pingrid.livejournal.com 2008-11-19 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
*snickers* *quaffs* Oops. *spills*

Same here. Must be a Continental thing ...

and prefer to offer dead ducks as a sign of availability. ;)
Yes, for dowry. Now, that makes sense.

Did you get the betaed story back alright, BTW, or must I replace the duck with my ISP?
I did and so much thanks! *hugs*

How cool! I loved this. :)

[identity profile] alisanne.livejournal.com 2008-11-19 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
What a cool idea!
*g*

[identity profile] shiv5468.livejournal.com 2008-11-19 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Good lord, I appear to be wearing rouge.

[identity profile] norton-gale.livejournal.com 2008-11-19 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL, it's the Norse goddess Freya. I recognized Pingrid immediately in her pose . ;)

[identity profile] calanthe-fics.livejournal.com 2008-11-19 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Without wishing to appear ungrateful I was rather hoping for picspam of the real thing(s).

:)

[identity profile] maya231.livejournal.com 2008-11-19 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I love this idea, but I guess you had to be there, as I'm not sure what to infer from it all...
I'd love to know the names of the paintings though, as I have neglected my art history studies of late.
Glad it was a good trip, overall, and if you feel like posting your favorite costumetextilethingies (isn't that partly why you went?) or sights, I will devour with vicarious pleasure!

[identity profile] beatnikspinster.livejournal.com 2008-11-19 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
This is such cool picspam. And I'm super jealous at happy for you all being able to get together in such a beautiful place.

[identity profile] deensey.livejournal.com 2008-11-20 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
ahahaha, i love you.

Now sleep.

[identity profile] sassy-cissa.livejournal.com 2008-11-20 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
I think that is an excellent representation of you. *hugs*

[identity profile] norton-gale.livejournal.com 2008-11-20 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
Glad I haven't misrepresented myself! *hugs you*

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-11-20 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's a natural flush from excess stair-climbing.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-11-20 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
Slept, showered, shagged, and slathered in kitty hair. Am properly home!

[identity profile] deensey.livejournal.com 2008-11-20 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
Excellent!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-11-20 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
Florence was just delightful. It is a very kind city for the older woman, Italian men feel it's a moral obligation to make women smile, bless their slightly dodgy little hearts.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-11-20 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
Kitties are deranged. though they have forgotten they were cranky with me and are back to the lurrrrrve.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-11-20 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I wasn't going to post photos of actual people, so I went for the next best option. We all look something like our analogues! The Ingrid one is Market Woman with Fruits, Vegetable and Poultry by Joachim Beauckelaer, Vaysh is a study by Sir Edward Burne-Jones, Shiv is Rubens's Young Woman in a Fur Wrap (after Titian), and I'm Raphael's La Donna Velata, of the two photos, Rai is an unknown 1920s starlet and anthimaeria is a photo of Gladys Cooper from the 1910s.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-11-20 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
Likelihood of me posting photos of self over internet = zero. However, some more snaps, especially of shoes, will be wending them way to your personal email since we all agreed we were fine with you knowing what we looked like.
