With only minimally bleeding nose (some of the capillaries are a wee bit fragile due to repeated breaking and do not cope well with sneezing when very dry. No, [livejournal.com profile] anthimaeria , I am really not hiding a secret history as a stuntwoman ;-)) I have made it home, to a happy J and two conflicted kitties. They keep running up to me for pats, then remembering they are meant to be cranky with me and jumping off the bed in crankiness.

The house is a tiny bit of a cat-covered disaster, which I take to mean that J has spent the whole time I have been away pining. This is right and proper.

Some of you may be wondering what the Florence meetup girls look like. As a guide, here we are represented by the Great Artists and Photographers. Here's [livejournal.com profile] raitala :

The bb pic didn't show up! *pulls hair*

I'm glad you're home safe and sound and that your kittens are giving you a good and proper ambivilent greeting - they are cats after all!

And we've all been pining for you! :)

LOL! I love it :D And since I know AM and Vaysh in RL, I can attest to the bull's eye accuracy of your choices. It took me a second for Vaysh, but then I saw that the woman you choose actually (and stunningly) looks just like her! As does the woman you chose for AM, especially the way she's looking down rather shyly (and yes, AM, I see you as being shy - at least sometimes). *hugs* I wish so much that I could have been there, too. Maybe next time . . . . :)

Welcome home!

Vaysh was hard to find, but AM was easy! And she's the good shy, where she's brave and bold when she needs to be, interested and observant when not ;-)

We're already talking about Tallin 09 and Berlin 2010 ...

And glad to hear from you, I have an email I started before I went away that I will finish as soon as I am remotely rational again. But first, shower and sleep ...

Where's you? I know I can find a good pic. Here's an alternate one of [livejournal.com profile] pingrid.

I like the one of Shiv showing off her nipple. And that does look like me, Vaysh, and glamourous Rai.

Glad you're home safe and sound!(And you weren't a stunt woman, you were a secret agent).

EDIT: Oh! I see you now. :)

WOW! That really is very Pingrid!

Now that's a job I could rock, I was secretly Italian, French, and, briefly, German over the last fortnight. The woman who insisted I must be Irish wasn't too far off, essentially Celtic colouring with Mediterranean hair.

I was very happy to find that one for you, and Vaysh's, since you were the two that I expected to have to hunt for, but I went to the right periods and there you were!

And yes, happily home. How are you feeling? Has the tum settled? I decided that Italian snot would be a pleasant change, bleagh!

These are wonderful, you've nailed everyone in some way! I'm a litte disconcerted to find myself nailed as Beuckelaer's Market Woman, but it's hard to argue against the truth. :D

Which one did you have in mind for you? I was going to suggest one of the Bronzino Eleonoras, maybe, but all these feathers are making it difficult to type. ;)

Oh wow - uncanny similarities, really, all of them. You certainly got my sharp nose right ;-) and everything else about my representation is serious and unabashed flattery. Yours is very accurate, especially the face and hair. And I always imagined [livejournal.com profile] pingrid holding some poor duck's throat ;-). I am extremely partial to Shiv's exposed right nipple, now that I learned that rolling it between thumb and forefinger is a gesture of offering her up for marriage and means nothing else whats'o'ever.

Date: 2008-11-19 06:04 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] pingrid.livejournal.com
Ah yes, we here in the North find that nipple-pinching to be a frivolous affectation and prefer to offer dead ducks as a sign of availability. ;)

Did you get the betaed story back alright, BTW, or must I replace the duck with my ISP?

I'd love to know the names of the paintings though, as I have neglected my art history studies of late.
Glad it was a good trip, overall, and if you feel like posting your favorite costumetextilethingies (isn't that partly why you went?) or sights, I will devour with vicarious pleasure!

Well, I wasn't going to post photos of actual people, so I went for the next best option. We all look something like our analogues! The Ingrid one is Market Woman with Fruits, Vegetable and Poultry by Joachim Beauckelaer, Vaysh is a study by Sir Edward Burne-Jones, Shiv is Rubens's Young Woman in a Fur Wrap (after Titian), and I'm Raphael's La Donna Velata, of the two photos, Rai is an unknown 1920s starlet and anthimaeria is a photo of Gladys Cooper from the 1910s.
