blamebrampton: 15th century woodcut of a hound (Default)

Not long ago, but probably while I was still in Italy, someone who I know I quite like but think I know from the internet rather than the physical world, emailed me suggesting I join a particular comm to work on a particular project, which had something to do with HP and may have involved being able to spell.

Possibly.

It may also have been an invitation to a weaving workshop or a weekend's work observing waterfowl.

Anyway, the salient point is: now that some semblance of sanity has returned, I have been hunting high and low for said email, and am buggered if I can find it. So if you are currently saying 'THAT'S why the bitch never replied to me!', why yes! it is! And could you please send it again because I seem to recall I thought whatever it was was a very good idea.

SORTED! Thanks Mel!

Next mystery: why does LJ keep things from me? It's like one of my exes ...

If by LJ keeping things from you you mean not getting notifications of community invites, that's because apparently that's not default behaviour. Stupid, stupid rat creatures! You have to set notifications for invites explicitly.

Speaking of cryptic posts, I've often been tempted to write "I know what you did, and I don't appreciate it" and see how many respond. ;)

BTW, that's an actual quote from my aunt, referring to my boyfriend who'd just committed the unspeakable crime of going outside to smoke a cigarette.

Thank g_d she didn't notice him knocking over the garden gnomes!

And can you imagine? Everyone seems a little edgy at the moment, you'd probably be met with waves of confessionals and tears and the lovely folk at fandomwank would be thrilled!

Yes indeed!

It certainly would be interesting from a sociological perspective, though it would result in a flood of defriending!
LJ drama is so annoying. You just have to laugh at it sometimes. That being said, I try to stay far away from wank wars if I can help it.

I'm in good shape, as I have one and a half very large Cadbury bars in my refrigerator!

By the way, I loved the Australian Dairy Milk. It seemed a little milkier and sweeter than the British version.

Feeling better, I take it?

I can BREATHE AGAIN! And yes, certainly milkier, it reminds me a little of the Dairy Milk of my youth, as today's version is a pale imitation thereof. The Kiwi version is even nicer, I'll send you some when I am there in Feb!

Yay! Looking forward to testing the Cadbury's of the world. Unfortunately the US version would probably come in dead last.

Why, hello!
Yes, really! I haven't figured out if it is imported from somewhere else, but it's nowhere near as good as ours.

Persmonster & I are joining Mr C in Sydney on Friday. We'll be there for a couple of weeks. Weekends are packed, but during the day, we are ladies of leisure (and staying at Darling Harbour). Let's catch up!

Your memory isn't actually that bad, I know myself if I don't deal with things right away I will often forget about them completely.

Date: 2008-12-06 03:00 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com
But I used to not do this! Bloody taxi! It makes me look mad when I have the things I do remember and they are all perfect. People say 'Right, so that's two pages of text in your head, but you forgot my birthday. I see.'

Thank god for lj birthday notifications, I say!

Date: 2008-12-07 06:04 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] annes-stuff.livejournal.com
So you are worried about forgetting birthday's. I wouldn't worry I have forgotten to call every single member of my family this year for their birthday (and also friends), I think I sent you a birthday message but I got the date wrong!
