Dear Sydney weather,

27 degrees C is not an evening temperature. It is a temperature at which I cannot sleep. I know this, because I had two hours' sleep last night. Now I look a wreck and have a sore back after falling asleep sitting up on the sofa. I also haven't finished any of the fic I have been writing, because I am too stupid to write more than a few sentences at a time!

27 is a maximum, not a minimum. The North Americans need some heat, we do not. Nor does Melbourne nor Perth. Please take all the excess heat from here and send it where it can do some good. As the Ruddbot and Obamaman say, we all need to pitch in and do our bit.

Thank you,
BB

PS Dear Andy Murray, I am about to fall asleep after a shower (I hope), if you could manage to win in my absence, that would be lovely!

Poor darling! How odd is it that Norway is the clement middle ground?! Good luck with getting some sleep! (I may order boots today or tomorrow, will let you know!)

Don't you lot get any big ideas like last time and run off settling Greenland again! (I know that was mostly Danes, but you all have those Viking tendencies.)

*Considers moving to Oslo*

Looks forward to role as Boot Guardian and Dispatcher!

[identity profile] pingrid.livejournal.com 2009-01-22 12:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I feel that Greenland's been done already. I'm considering maybe settling a small Pacific island populated by nubile young innocents, hmm.

You don't have to move to Oslo, but you really should visit! :D

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-22 12:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Pick one of the Fijian islands, they have so many they lose count ;-)

I KNOW I should visit, am ringing my mother tomorrow in a bid to do have some money appear!

[identity profile] pingrid.livejournal.com 2009-01-22 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Hunt her down, hold her upside down and shake until the money falls out! ;) If it will help you be stern I'll email you an air photo of the place by the sea! :D

It will just make me cry ...

Bedtime now, Zzzzzzzz

Don't let the bedbugs bite, unless they're J. :)

*hates the weather* We had a storm tonight, which should hopefully cool things down. Did you guys get it?

[identity profile] emerald-dragon8.livejournal.com 2009-01-22 11:39 am (UTC)(link)
Hopefully it's heading north!!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-22 11:39 am (UTC)(link)
Fingers crossed!

Don't forget Brisbane, don't need it up here either! I hope you get some quality sleep. I haven't felt rested from a good nights sleep in such a long time, it makes my brain all fuzzy.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-22 12:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh good point! How could I forget? Wishes you cool, too!

The North Americans do need heat! Give it up, Australia!

I had a dream about you last night. I was traveling with you and some other people in Europe. We were on a cliff, and below it was a boat with a tall pole/mast without a sail. You climbed down the mast and into the boat, and then I did too. Then we hung out in the boat and talked.

What does it mean?

Yes. Please. SEND IT OVER HERE!!!!

-accepts heat gladly- Would you like some snow? We've got plenty to spare, really. I feel it's my civic duty to share the cold.

[identity profile] aldehyde.livejournal.com 2009-01-22 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
oh what i wouldn't do for a bit of 27C! that's not hot at all! seriously, my fave temp range is between 24 - 28C. i grew up with summers that ranged between 45-55C IN THE SHADE, and surprisingly enough, the humid canadian summer [when we GET days of summer] are usually in the mid 30s during the high point.

i'm happy we have a high of -2C and a low of -9 today. it has put me in a very good mood :D

While you are at it North America, you are quite welcome to take NZ weather as well! Well atleast Dunedin's weather :-)

30 degrees C all day with no wind, high humidity and it carried through into the night. I was actually amazed we did not change seasons throughout the day. (Dunedin does the whole 4 seasons in a day thing.)
Seriously, anyone got some snow they would like to swap?

Hope you get some sleep bram!

Is a window air conditioner a possibility for you? I resisted getting one for years, but it was only $200 when we did, and some nights in summer it's the only reason we can sleep at all.

[identity profile] uminohikari.livejournal.com 2009-01-22 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
But that temperature is /comfortable/.

[identity profile] ex-pseudicid32.livejournal.com 2009-01-22 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Seriously, it's revolting.

*trades some of your heat for some of the freezing cold I have* I wish it really worked like that. It's pretty cold here.

Oh, man! I'm so not looking forward to six months from now!

27 degrees C is not an evening temperature. It is a temperature at which I cannot sleep.

Welcome to the world of the central valley of California. I remember Augusts and Septembers where we were glad if it got down that low overnight. I hated being awakened at 9 AM because it was too hot to sleep any longer (even naked and under a single sheet, or nothing).

The North Americans need some heat, we do not.

Er, not here (south San Francisco Bay). Our winter temps are normal right now, thanks.
