Good news!

The two neighbourhood cats have not been abandoned! Their owners were on holiday and thought the cats would be fine.

So they are still arses ...

Dog: Lovemelovemelovemeloveme! Wanna play? Huh? Huh? Let's play! I love you!

Cat: I might allow you to worship me if you offer proper tribute.

My Monster cat thinks she is a dog from watching too much Inspector Rex at an early age. The Cookie cat just frowns in disapproval and aloofs off up the hall ;-)

I used to have a friend who acquired a kitten in a house with three dogs of various ages - one just past puppyhood, one middle aged, and one senior. This cat rapidly became convinced she was a dog - she liked to sit on my chest and lick my face.

Mon does that, too, and drops her brush at our feet then looks up and Miaows. No more dog-based crime-fighting shows for that cat!
