THWARTED!

I am sitting here with my friend [personal profile] deense, in an evening of planned faffing. We have eaten stroopwaffel, and talked historic costuming (our shared passion), and are trying to watch a DVD. We popped it into the Beyonwiz, which had en entire booting failure. Then into the DVD player, which froze. So we connected my laptop to the telly. Picture perfect. J went to plug in the sound cable.

We looked for the sound cable for half an hour before we gave up.

So now she is making me watch the Thames Barrier episode of Spooks while she tells me about her Band of Brothers fic.

Pilgrim update later.

And [personal profile] deense says HI [profile] violetquill!

Hey! I KNOW YOU!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 12:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Who are you again?

(I jest, I've remembered your name for YEARS now!)

HEE! For a while you were the sort british lady who wasn't nearly as loud as I was, except when you were.

Ahem.

I think of it as commanding, rather than loud ;-)

[identity profile] deensey.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)
A presence even? Perhaps your gravitas?

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 01:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I protest! My ass has no gravity!

Damn your foodly temptations! I had to look up stroopwaffel, and it looks soooooo good. I'm supposed to be writing today, not drooling at recipies. *drool*

How was the Spooks episode? Any interesting plot twists to get annoyed over since they're now used up in that context?

Environmental terrorists and the UK gov withholding a report stating that they were going to give global warming no more than a window dressing solution rather than see the economy collapse, so now would be a good time to start producing the nukes they would eventually need. Some good Barrier shots, though!

The Barrier is just so good-looking, it's fantastic! Makes me happy every time.

I know! I love beautiful engineering works ...
