Further to yesterday's post ...

[personal profile] empress_jae  and I have been nutting out some of the details. A few things are becoming apparent. Firstly, we will almost certainly need a few more mods scattered around the world's time zones. Anyone keen?

Secondly, we're looking at ways of managing the tag team fic and crack drabbles. All of them boil down to moderated or un-moderated. Does anyone have any firm and unyielding opinions on the joys or evils of moderation?

Finally, the con itself runs Thursday to Monday. Do we want to go that long, or stop on Sunday?

Once we've finished working out what we're doing, we'll advertise the comm and anyone can come to play!

Hiya - I can do UK timezone. I'm not in front of my computer 24/7, well that's a complete lie, but some of that time I should be working. I have 2 birthday parties and a family revel on Saturday, but otherwise I'm keen to help. No idea how a drabble fest or tag-team fic might be moderated, but I can cut and paste and manage limited html and I can tell people to 'play nicely' in my best Head Girl voice...

Do we need a fixed end date really? Is there going to be a sort of grand reveal type thing? If not, I'd have thought that we could just hold the thing nominally in place of Az but if it dribbled into the following week, no biggie?

Do you need an icon - what would you like?

Oh! Icons! I have one bad one at the moment, which is the trio hanging out at The Burrow, working with the whole Con at Home theme. I'll email you ...

The current theory is daily mod postings with topics for drabbles, discussion points for the film and at this rate general HP discussion points (which we will probably be calling for in the next couple of hours).

The need for regular mods will only occur with the tag-team, so that we can just give entries a quick read-through. Since we will be aiming for two-hour turn arounds on that, it will need a bit of a mod presence across the weekend to handle it.

As to an end point ... good question. It would be kind of nice to see if we could work the big fic towards a closing point so the mods could all ignore the comm after that, but then what if it is truly epic? The drabbles and discussion can probably keep going until we all run out of steam!

Well, I'll be around pretty much all of Sunday and I could do a few hours on Thursday, Friday and Monday too, if needed. Just email and point me in the right direction!

OK, I'm reposting my icon because the Getty Images thing I couldn'T be bothered to edit out before was annoying me and I couldn't edit the previous comment.

Here it is again:
